“AVOID.”

written by CammyMick on 02/08/2023

AVOID, Put wrong ammount on finance document - and ghosting me to not ammend it, also promised money off car as it was covered in scratches and overspray despite being described "Mint" and still waiting for the cheque that was promised and stamped on the paperwork for, the branch said if i had proof the car wasnt listed for the price - then to send the evidence over, once evidence was submitted i was ghosted, HQ launched investigation and upon evidence being submitted - now being ghosted, Car also has service vehicle soon (which is actually an engine managment light on vauxhalls) the car left the dealership that way as they cleared it, and is now an everyday reminder to never use stoneacre again. Id rather use Arnold Clarke than go here again, or peter vardy, You've been warned - DO NOT spend your money here.

An agent from stoneacre Renault Northallerton sold us an awesome Renault captur, no pressure buying, we were given lots of choice and time/privacy to talk, we love the car and would use stonacre again.

“TIME WASTERS”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Julianag278 on 25/05/2023

Having seen a car we like online we rang the Chesterfield showroom and spoke to an agent. He assured us the car was 'better than you'd expect for its age', assured us it was in excellent condition and swiftly took a £100 deposit over the phone to secure it. It was a gift for our daughters birthday. A few days later our daughter took a days holiday from work and travelled the 100 miles from our home to the showroom by train, costing £45. We asked if the salesman could collect her from the station in the car as part of the test drive and save her the taxi fare, he refused. When she arrived the car had damage to the wing mirror, several scuffs on the bodywork and worst of all RUST on the sill. She rang us and said it was not as described and she didnt want it as it had more rust on it than her present car which is 10 years older!!! So disappointedly, she had to make the return journey home by train. We rang agent and asked for our deposit back. Nothing arrived. We rang again, still nothing. We emailed, still nothing. We rang 8 times and emailed several times and were promised the money back on several occasions but nothing was refunded to our account. Finally after 14 working days since our daughter visited the showroom we had to contact the complaints department of their head office to get a refund. What a disgraceful display of inefficiency and false information. No one apologised or offered any money towards my daughters train fare or wasted time and they completely messed us about holding on to our deposit and not returning it telling us to ring back later and then that person was 'out of office'. If we had this much trouble getting a refundable deposit back I cant imagine if you bought a car from them what trouble you'd have getting any problems with a car resolved! Shocking customer service, false descriptions of cars and totally unhelpful AVOID!!!!

“After sales service is awful”

★☆☆☆☆

written by JamieDawson on 05/04/2023

I had my service with them as part of my lifeline guarantee (not worth the paper it's written on) I'm told I need a new cam belt they quote me £599 and don't tell me labour is on top of this, they charged me £367.50 for 3 1/2 hours labour, so a total of £966 I got a quote from a local garage for £372 all in, this is how they treat you once they have your business, I won't ever be buying or using their service centre again after this car.

“TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by LilianLeslie on 22/03/2023

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Vanworld Sheffield advertised a van for a set price, with no VAT to be paid. We checked about the VAT twice. They were certain: no VAT. We agreed to buy the van, paid the deposit, they were all smiles and told us we could pick it up in a few days. Four days later, they call to say VAT is payable - i.e.- the price has gone up way out of our budget! Talk about moving the goal posts!

“Rubbish”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ChadBarry on 11/02/2023

Worst service Ever! Agent sells me an A35 takes a deposit. The car had a number of issues which he was looking to rectify prior to collection. I made several calls and on one occasion I was told the car was with Mercedes having work carried out. Ive never heard from him again. Subsequent calls made by me to trace the progress to be told the cars been sold to someone else. To make matters worse the dealership manager was there at the time too. Absolute shambles still not had the decency to refund the deposit or provide an explanation of the absolute rubbish service.

I was nervous about buying a car. Custom video sent to my phone. Will arranged an appointment and honestly was so friendly I immediately felt at ease and confident of making my purchase.I test drove my car, purchased it and drove away in the same day. Will arranged tax, full valet, insurance and numerous coffees. Will was considerate, professional and is a real asset to Stoneacre Wolverhampton. :)

“Terrible costumer service ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Rmrsash110 on 27/10/2022

My car was for repair due to an accident. No courtesy car for 3 weeks, and every time I rang to check if my car was repaired or if there was a courtesy car available the lady on the phone was always rude, and unprofessional. Absolutely ridiculous the way this lady treated me during this 3 weeks. I don't recommend at all!!!

“Took out a 5 year Life Line Guarantee when we purchase...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Bondta241 on 07/09/2022

Took out a 5 year Life Line Guarantee when we purchase our 3 year old Juke, the sale person said never said we had to take it back to stoneacre for a service and MOT to keep the guarantee going. These prices are astronomical but went along with it then the car has developed an oil leak, so it went in for the service and MOT and they was asked to repair the oil leak. The garage at Grimsby checked for an oil leak but said it was coming from the Timing Chain cover and this is NOT covered under the warranty and charged us £99 for checking it out. They then said but it could be a pipe or something else, bring it back in a couple of month and we’ll check it again. DO NOT take out the cover it is not worth the paper it is written on

“AFTER SALES SERVICE IS SO POOR.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 268Finn on 06/07/2022

Since i bought my Peugeot 3008 gt line 2 years ago from Stoneacre at Harrogate, i had returned 3 times. Twice for servicing and once for a battery problem. On buying 2 years ago this dealership was a Peugeot franchise, since then on the 3 return visits there were obvious signs of change. No showroom new cars just any random second-hand car. I asked what was going on, and was told new cars not available. Second visit a Ford sign appeared yet still no one told me it was no longer a Peugeot dealership. On my third visit yesterday the dealership is now full of ford cars, yet no one over the last year thought it necessary to inform me. The atmosphere in the showroom is cold, with customer care a distant memory. I agreed a price on my service a couple of weeks ago, yet yesterday there was going to be extra's ??? Last service a year ago didn't include checking the battery, so a few weeks later i had a failure to start issue requiring a RAC call out to tell me it was a contact problem with the battery. Simply no confidence with this dealership due to failed service and customer service. Yesterday was my final visit. I will go elsewhere for my cars and servicing. They have gone so down hill as a dealership.

“Great Service”

★★★★★

written by KeltonBurns on 18/05/2022

This was my first purchase from this motor group. I made an enquiry over a car I saw advertised however I was unaware the distance of the dealership was as I live in Devon. I spoke to a gentleman who had no issue with arranging transport to bring the car down to Devon. luckily I had a business trip just south of Sheffield I was able to arrange with the team to meet and part exchange and purchase a new vehicle is from nearby services on junction 28 of the M1. As you can imagine I had great reservations of this seem to be unusual however it was the only opportunity I had to range. As a new customer and was unaware of the company I have great reservations about making such a large purchase without this to the dealership and see in the car first. Nevertheless the team putting protocol in place and safeguards to ensure they and myself were neutral protected and gave me confidence and reassurance. The flexibility of the service he went to to ensure I was able to purchase a car Which I’ve been looking for for sometime unfortunately was only available over 300 miles away from my home. He remains in constant contact leading up to the arrange meet throughout the exchange and days after. Everything fell into place beautifully and I would highly recommend speaking to the team.

“Fab experience”

★★★★★

written by Dogwagon on 26/03/2022

We were most impressed with the Ordering and Handover process with Stoneacre Derby MG ! He was lovely to deal with throughout the process and refreshingly open and honest regarding the saga that is the Chip Shortage when nobody had a clue when cars would be delivered until just before they arrived!! Great guy … I’d recommend him and the car he supplied … the MG HS Exclusive Phev is great to look at fab to sit in and smooth over the bumps and feels really special when you sit in it and drive it ! Really impressed ! So is The Wife and she’s really hard to please !!!

“Warning! Don't BUY from stoneacre”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Joerobertball on 18/03/2022

In the first 4 months we have had the followimg problem with what they call a quality used car. Faults with nox sensors and system (engine won't start) Wheel bearings need replacing High Beam Assistance inoperable Leak under the bonet Infective wiper system Car rolling whilst in parking brake applied Service overdue by 506 days Bought the warranty and they've refused to work on the car. Told us they'd fixed the sensors but mercedes have confirmed they have just erased the fault. Hang up on us if we call. They even cancelled the insurance on the curtesy car without telling us and left us to drive around init all week. That's what you get for £18000

I was told 30days or remainder of manufacturers warranty they do offer a lifetime warranty aswell but it's over priced and has lots of limitations it has to be serviced by them and only them every year even if car not due a service to manufacturer guidelines I'd avoid stoneacre tbh

If there is something wrong with the car you should be able to otherwise I'm not sure
Asked by Paulupton12 on 23rd February 2014 Report this content
I am wanting to know how much it costs to take out a Stoneacre lifetime guarantee?   I have tried looking online and it seems, through various forums, that people have paid all different prices for the exact same product. Varying from £300 - £1200 one off payment, which is added to the cost of the car on the car order form. Stoneacre themselves have been very vague with me over the phone when trying to find out this information.

I paid £795 but wish I hadn't taken it. There is no cooling off period and you must get the car serviced by Stoneacre to keep the guarantee valid
Report this content Woody107 Written on: 27/02/2014
Hi, I have paid £700.00 which was added to the cost of my vehicle. The cost is slightly dependant on the type of vehicle you purchase. I had a similar product for the previous vehicle I had which I got stoneacre to service and maintain. It proved a cost saving in the end so thought it better to take the option offered on purchase. I have researched expected costs for the next five years and taking into account a 2% inflation over that period it once again seemed to be a prudent cost saving having the Stoneacre Lifetime guarantee. I hope this helps but of course when talking money its all down to your own requirements. Good luck
