We inherited this washer from our previous landlord who inherited it when she bought the house… no idea when it was originally bought, but it’s 2023 and this thing is still going! Never had any issues with it - we even moved it to our new house with us. Reading the reviews, maybe we just got lucky?! The spin cycle is LOUD though. Ours is in the garage.

WHEN this machine works its ok...it is just getting it to work thats the problem... on any programe it starts ok then stops, dial spins round... I manualy stop the the machine.. I Re-set the machine and (power off)...Start again on any programe starts ok then stops dial spins round... I re-set the machine (power off) and so on so unreliable.BUT SOMETIMES IT WORKS. Our washing machine repair man said all cheap machines are rubbish and says buy a bosch, this does not seem a very green way of going on to me keep buying new all the time instead of repairing, signed grumpy old man (age 57)

I bought 3 "B" Grade models in 2004 to fit out 3 flats I'd just bought. Flats have had tenants throughout and have only had problems when one tenant twice blocked the filter. Fixed it myself. One machine has just failed - still washes but does not dry. I never buy service agreements, so this has been very cheap to run so far. Indesit now want £124.99 for a one off repair, or £179.88 for a 1 year warranty. Will probably buy another "B" Grade. My experience - very happy with Indesit.

My Indesit WD12x came with my new build flat and I have had repeated problems with it in the past 4 years and now have to replave it. I had to pay approx £100 for a repair 2 years ago and now the pressure switch has gone. It is noisy and doesnt clean well and clearly not value for money. Wont be buying again!

I bought an Indesit WD12s (silver version)8 years ago and in that time it has gone wrong twice, both times with a faulty solenoid valve. This is when the machine constantly fills up with water, even when it's unplugged. Fortunately the first time this happened it was still in its warranty period and the second time I bought the part myself and replaced it. I think the part was about 13 pounds. So it hasn't really cost me a lot.
The machine washes fine, but the drying is not the greatest. Clothes do come out wet unless you choose a very long drying option.
Indesit is a cheap, lower quality brand and I feel like I got my money's worth, but I wouldn't buy another one. My next machine will be a quality brand like Bosch.

This should have been class action lawsuit fodder. It crashes often, has gone ON FIRE in the dry cycle, failed door handle, switches, safety mechanisms, you name it, it's failed or just waiting to fail.
I have an Indesit dishwasher also, which has had components fail many times.
When it costs £20 for a replacement on off switch, I don't bother and just solder the wires or clunk in a generic £1 switch. Ugly, but these things are ugly inside already ;)
Don't buy any Indesit products unless you can repair white goods yourself and love the work. I've had to molly coddle a dishwasher and this WD12S washer dryer to keep them going, thankfully I sourced the parts and installed/repaired myself, otherwise it would have been too expensive in engineering callout costs to justify it's existence!
Never again will I buy an Indesit product.

This machine is the worst machine you could ever imagine! totally Sh*#e doesnt come near! I have had this machine fixed about 25 times in the last 5 years (I wish I was exagerating but Im not!) got it fixed a week ago and its broken down again already! and its really really loud when it does work!!!!

Crappy cheap, poor quality spring to mind!
If your renting a flat and it has one of these WD12 Indesit machines, your Land lord is a money grabbing Slum Lord!
My machine does work but the drum inside is tiny, it does not dry clothes very well and the handle has snapped off twice!
These are about £24.99 to replace in parts alone and a NIGHTMARE to fit evan if your quite good at DIY.
Spend more and get allot more back in return. You will certainly save money in the long run and get a much better product to.
You have been warned!

I bought one of these 5 yrs ago for a holiday let. It has NEVER worked !! The engineer has been out 3 or 4 times, replaced the circuit board twice and the knob still spins around. It has been the worst purchase I have ever made, absolutely useless - don't buy one, don't even let someone give you one of these machines you will only have to take it out again and dispose of it !!

Rang in a fault man came in two days put a part in said its fixed. Tried it not fixed another week before an engineer can come
DON'T BUY INDESIT

Had this washer for 1 year and 2 months and it has broken down 5 times. the main circut board keeps breaking down. its now out of warranty and have been told to scrap it. when the machine was working it sounded like nasa was launching a rocket in the kichen and would never set it away before going to bed, just so my street could sleep. the clothes came out dirtier than what they went in, and had to dry clothes 2 times everytime due to dryer not doing job the first time. would of been quicker drying them with my girlfriends hair dryer. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANY INDESIT TO ANY ONE.

Don't ever buy this machine - in fact I cannot recommend Indesit at all. Buy a quality-brand, no-frills machine - you will get far better value for money that way. I've had 8 of these Indesit WD12 machines in rental properties - with five machines failed! Often multiple times each machine. Spinning dial. Door won't open. Etc. Certainly never buy one second hand.

This Indesit WD12 was newly installed when I moved in. It is now just 3 years old, perhaps 200 washes.
Spinning knob problem. (Plus, it is indeed very noisy when spinning.)
The service people checked it 3 times in the past 3 months, each time taking out the main circuit board, drying it with a hair dryer, putting it back in. It then worked for another 1 or 2 times. (Fortunately, since this is a recurring problem, they charged me only once so far.)
The machine was the choice of the developer, supposedly for one reason only: cheap to purchase.
Verdict: Stay clear. If you got one already, save for a new one. Replace it as soon as it fails for the first time. Everything else is waste of time and money.

i have had my indesit wd12 for 6.5years and approx 1200 washes. it has been totally reliable and i have never had a problem with it. only downside is that its a bit noisy on the spin cycle. overall thumbs up.

Indesit WD12 was a cheap washing machine, which has been excellent value for money. It seems other people have been less fortunate. If it packed up tomorrow I reckon I've had my monies worth.

I've had this for 7 years - mainly trouble free, but it does not dry efficiently (goes in cold and wet - comes out hot and wet). Can be temperamental with the dial just clicking round endlessly.

Wouldn't buy this s/h in a million years. Very hard to think of any. I suppose it does wash clothes and does manage to dry them eventually.

Hi! We too suffer from same problem as you, though much less frequently. Turns out, as I read this morning in the manual, that turning the machine on/off does NOT reset the machine. It says to do that you have to advance the dial to any of the black dots that mark the end of a full wash cycle, and leave it there for at least 5 seconds. Nothing else will reset the machine. Hope this can help reduce your suffering!
