The Worst Travel Company Ever!!!!!!!!
My wife and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with a trip to Varadero Cuba with Air Transat. We choose a 4-star resort and paid for an upgraded room plus their "option plus" program and paid for their supposed chief's gourmet meal on the flight to and from Cuba.
To start our trip the flight was delayed. Then we had to walk quite a way outside, in February, in Canada to board the plane. Once seated in our very cramped seats and on our way we had to ask for our $25.00 per plate "gourmet meal" which consisted of shepherd's pie except for Air Transat's version did not have meat or such a minute quantity that it was virtually none existant. Which was served after everyone else was served, probably due to the inconvenience to the staff?
Upon arriving all service were either in French or Spanish both of which I speak very poorly and my wife does not speak at all. The only clear instruction given by the bus people was to ensure they were tipped.
Once we arrived at our hotel it was quite apparent AirTansats' veiw of 4-star and the rest of the worlds veiw of 4-star are signifialy different. Firstly we requested two beds, we were given one. The hotel was completely run down from the entance to the rooms. There was black mold in the air vents, the bathroom and on surfaces. There were no facecloths or hand towel. It looked like the bedsheets had not been changed. The lobby and rooms smelled strongly of cigerette smoke to the level that after a day our cloths smelled like cigerette smoke. There was so little water pressure you could hardly shower. The fixtures were barely hanging on the walls and there was no hot water, tepid at best.
There was only one person booking restaurants. After veiwing waiting lines over an hour long we gave up and just ate the buffet. All but one meal in the buffet was fine. However there were cockroaches running everyehere in the kitchen cooking area. Also the staff placed double cutlery on every table. Therefore we witnessed, at every meal people handling other peoples cutlery as it was not removed between guests being seated. How gross is that! The staff was freindly throughout the resort.
Two of the three excursions we went on were great and the beaches were beautiful. Snorkelling was a waste of time as there is no reef. However the natural beauty of Cuba is amazing.
Our return flight was on time, however we did not get the seats the seats we preselected and the option plus did not , as advertised fast track us anywhere.
All and all the worst resort and carrier ever. I would not recommend Air Transat to anyone nor would I ever consider travelling with them again. Thankgoodness Cuba was beautiful and I was with great company, my wife of 40 years.
My Cat Was Denied To Fly With All Proper Documentation
If you think that this airline will accomodate its flyers you are COMPLETELY WRONG. This airline denied me and my cat onto our flight that I prearranged and that I had with me ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION. We had her health certificate, her shots, and her carrier requirements yet they told us she was not clear to fly FOR NO REASON. I can not and will not accept the treatment that I received. I had to frantically find someone to care for my cat as the flight I booked could not be changed due to pre arranged visa and eTA applications. Now I am 2 countries away trying to care for her and find her a place to be cared for, meanwhile arranging transport for her to come to me. I am sickened by this company and have absolutely no respect for them. Never again air transat. I do not trust you nor what you say we need in order to fly wheny you turn around and deny us when all requirements are met.
Flight London Ontario To Punta Cana And Back
Jan 17.2018 Air transat plane was 2 Hrs late very crowded in plane no food finely after 3 hrs got a cup of water. because 2 hrs late in punta cana big crowd. another 3 hrs until left airport with baggage.
Jan 31.2018 way worse check in big lineup. there where at least 5 check in counters air transat used most of time only 2. we almost missed plane. we where on airport 12 noon plane took of by 3:40 pm. in plane same thing again at least I got my water after 2 hrs.If you want buy something it is overpriced. I guess that is normal this days. I do not recommend to book with air transat
Outraged & Disgusted By Air Transat Cash-cow Herding!

My husband and I travel at least once a year by plane, but we will never travel again with Air Transat. We arrived at Pearson Toronto Airport January 24, 2018 at 5:30pm from Jamaica via Air Transat Airline. Dreadful airline. for tall people - the seating is terribly cramped and uncomfortable. A small drink of water, soda or juice is offered during a 4 pluss hour trip: however, you can order a small amount of food (piece of pizza and drink) for $25.00. A can of beer or mixed drink is an outrageous gouging price. There is no way of resting on this airline as the entire time passengers are bothered relentlessly by airline staff encouraging them to spend, spend, spend on overpriced junk. Earbuds (to watch a movie) are a scandalous price of $9.00 per passenger. If you're the unlucky ones (as we were) seated in front of the emergency exits, your seat at the same cost as all other seats, does not recline: however, you may be offered free earbuds that do not work at those seats, and if you aske for assistance in getting the earbuds to work and the flight staff simply ask others around you if their earbuds work then proceeded to do nothing any further, much less, they don't have the decency to come back to you with an answer or assistance - they simply move on as though you didn't ask them for help at all... Disgusting! When we left Jamaica we had our bag with two bottles of boxed rum and a couple of breakable items labeled with white tape marked in large bold red letters reading fragile, and we paid $35.00 American dollars to put that bag through, with what we thought would be a safe and extra-care passage. Upon arrival at Pearson Airport in Toronto Canada, we found the bottles of rum and breakables broken - the luggage ruined. We then went to the Air Transat rep and received a pile of attitude from a young power-hungry rep who refused to address our complaint; rather, he blamed us for the broken goods and then refused to speak to us any further. Outrageous! Another Air Transat rep stepped up and told us there was nothing he could do or would do about the broken goods or soiled luggage but gave us the brush by handing us a Air Transat card to call the office. Air Transat could care less about our complaints or needs both on and off the plain. They had our money, and they had no time or intention to help us with anything that took place on the plan or with our valuables that we paid extra for and trusted in their care. Air Transat are nothing other than a money grabbing, people-herding, air line with no compassion or care for their high-paying costumers or belongings. Take heed when booking a trip. Avoid Air Transat at all cost, as your piece of mind and being human soon turns to being a worried, undignified animal herded to slater by nasty uncaring, negligent, browbeating, mercenaries.
Service And Comfort
I have travelled by air to Canada ON A REGULAR basis since 1974 and watched the standard of service drop however this year Transat hit a new low flight TS725 on 26th June was 2 hours late a weak apology provided by the captain
The return flight 724 on the 10th July had seats that were old badly maintained lopsided and to make things worse the meal consisted of a hot sandwich which at midnight was totally inedible. As for the crew they were sullen and unwelcoming
I would have complained on board but would have been accused of being disruptive
This most likely will be my last flight with Transat
Options Plus Is A Rip-off!
We booked the upgraded Options Plus seating that promises superior and primary service with extra legroom. Wanna know where the seats were? In the middle of the damn plane, emergency exit row! They charge extra for emergency exit seats and call it an upgrade!! "Upgraded seats" that were in the middle of the plane, no where near the washrooms. And we were only "upgraded" to the emergency exit seats after we paid for "Options Plus" and they booked us in regular seating anyway, obviously expecting us not to notice!
Will never use Transat again!!
Terrible Holiday
Upon arriving the hotel we were staying at my friend left her carry on in the transat van. We were unable to get a hold of anyone from air transat for 2 days. When recieving her carry on back. Money and her ciggerettes were gone. Let me remind you that the driver was an air transat employee. When i needed to leave early due to medical reasons i needed a doctors note which costed me a pretty penny. I was un able to reach my health insurance through air transat at all. The hospitality desk also charged us more for events outside the resort. Never again will i go with air transat.
No Food On Air Transat
We were in the D.R. coming home after a great week then our plane gets delayed still had to leave the hotel at the same time that ment spending 4 hours in the Punta Cana airport then to get on the plane and sit while the customs takes all the luggage of the plane to reinspect it (no fault of the airlines)but another 40 min delay just to have the plane finally get in the air and start serving food by the time they arrived at my seat row 17 NO MORE FOOD I asked what else do you have chips and cookies I ask the server do I look like I am 5 years old she told me that all they stalk the plane with I think they just never restocked.So now I have been on this flight for close to 5 hours land and they can't get the tunnle thing that hooks up to the plane to work another 35-40 min delay no excuses no information just suppose to sit back down and listen to small children continue to scream!!!!! Just one question why can't they have adult only flights I would even pay extra
Man To Tor Ok - Tor To Man Abysmal
Old planes, bad food, uncaring attendants. Oh and the same 2 movies on 4 flights taken within 4 weeks...
But the worst was booking a window seat to find that I was in-between windows (the window opening ahead of me by 6 inches... so the window surround took away my arm rest space. I couldn't even sit back in my chair as my shoulder (which has pins in) wouldn't even fit in the space, basically I sat like a pretzel for 7 hours. I had to lean forward all trip and the lady next to me in the middle seat had all the arm rest to my right. The most uncomfortable flight I have ever taken. They should really have those restricted seating highlighted for smaller people only when you pre-book your seat. Doesn't that make sense???
The only airline with a direct flight from Manchester to Toronto... but I would rather pay more and take 5 hours longer than ever (EVER) fly with these again... I say it every single time I fly with them but this time I am done!

Travelled recently with this company 4th Oct from Manchester to Toronto and then returned a week later. We were on an airbus where the seating was 3.3.3.
Extremely cramped widthwise. The leg room was reasonable. My partner who was on an aisle seat was constantly being knocked by passengers and on a couple of occassions by cabin crew, one of which did not even apologised as she pushed the trolley into his arm. Very difficult to eat without knocking the person in the next seat. On the subject of food, it was pathetic. A slice of banana cake for breakfast. Chicken and rice with a stale bread roll for main meal, with a square of fudge, which I supposed they classed as desert. This may be more economical than other airlines, but when you have to put up with poor conditions for over 6 hours then any comfort is not possible and causes friction. Would not recomend Transat.
