They block me whenever I use my card abroad. Never send me a replacement card despite I called several times. Although I changed my address in person at the branch and I was told it will take maximum 28 hours it took 28 days and only after I complaint to the complaint department. When I called complaint department again regarding delay in issuing me a card the one answers the phone does not know what to do and he admit he is unsure so he just put me back to the call center line... Although I was unable to access my account either online or at the branch (because my card expired) although I have the old one and an i.d. I have to pay a fortune every time I call because you will be waiting four hours! So never call from a public phone. I am still waiting for a card replacement for last 2 months. I am so disappointed with Abbey bank and can not wait to transfer to another bank.

With the new Abbey Visa Debit 'security' features for Banking online, your Card is checked monthly. Any 'unusual', as they tell me, withdrawals, will cause your Card to be 'blocked'. You receive no notification of this 'blocking'. I have spent over nine months now trying to find out who is responsible, and trying to get it 'unblocked'. I can use Card for cash withdrawals, but not to book any 'flight' travel or transfer MY money into an external savings Account.

Abbey failed to send out replacement Visa Debit cards. Shocking service when you try to get information and complain. These problems probably due to amateurish transfer of computer data to a new system which has mangled customers' addresses. But why has it not been checked or put right? Problems started in June 2007 and have escalated by mid-August. Total chaos!

Abbey Visa Debit is an average card that does not stand out from the rest. Ideal for everyday banking.

Overall, the Abbey Visa Debit card is excellent, as well as the current account it provides. I am very happy with the services I receive from Abbey.
