“Unreliable and second class service.”

Said my car didn't have an MOT and they would not recover it. Until I proved otherwise of which I did. Left me stranded and cold for hours. “Excellent service ”

Engine shut down with engine fault showing on dashboard. Contacted greenflag via smart app..within seconds I knew how long it would be until someone would get to me. Few moments later was contacted by control centre wanting a few extra details of fault. The lady was excellent and seemed very knowledgable and would keep me updated on rescue process. If you've joined Green Flag's Recovery or Recovery Plus expecting that you will be taken anywhere in the country if you've broken down, BEWARE, this may not be the case. I've recently discovered to my horror that I have only 25 miles of free transport, despite the breakdown cover information telling me otherwise. I'd like to revise this review as the problem has now been resolved and it has been determined that a mix-up has caused it. Neither myself nor Green Flag can be blamed as the problem was caused by a glitch in the system. I would however hope that the circumstances which did cause it are acknowledged by Green Flag so that others are not caught out the same way, which they could be.

In this case the information relating to my cover was in fact correct.

my car broke down this morning, 23rd May, called them and I was updated every 10 mins or so as the ETA what van was attending etc, the person I dealt with arrived at the exact estimated time and within minutes had found the problem and then towed me to my local garage. “unfair cancellation fee”

I cancelled my cover for a year to learn that I had to pay a cancellation fee. which I was never told about. I had bought a new Toyota and it had free cover for 12 months. I rang and told them I would start again in 12 months along with my wifes car also. The AA never did this in the many years I was with them. I HAVE BEEN WITH GREENFLAG FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS AND HAVE BEEN LEFT VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE RECENT SERVICE I RECEIVED. “Telephone manner appauling”

“1st class sevice”

I have been a Green Flag member now for years and have never had to use them. Well not up until four weeks ago when i had an ABS Fauld and the car would not drive i used the phone app which worked very well and somebody was out within 30 minutes and sorted the problem out. I also have European cover which we hope we will never need well not so this time our car ended up with a steering lock fault which would not let the car to start. “euro cover just a waste of money”

I had green flag European cover and broke down in spain . green flag do not take you to your destination only to the nearest garage where Spanish mechanics will try to take your eyes out . in my case a broken engine mount but garage said it was timing belt and water pump wanting 700 euros ended up having to scrap vehicle after being hung out to dry by green flag losing over £1000 refused to transport car 2 hours to my home steer well clear of this European policy not worth the paper its… Read Full Review

“Mechanic didn't know how to access spare wheel”

My Ford Transit van suffered a N/s/r puncture on the smart section of the m60 between jct 19/18.The lady who answered my call was friendly & efficient. After 1hr 10mins the mechanic arrived, not bad seeing it was 07.40 in rush hour. However, when he removed the jack & wheel brace he told me there was a part missing. “Dreadful service - never again”

My husband broke down some distance from home and found out what our policy was worth. Three hours waiting and then told he could not have a hire car because he was more than 10 miles away. What nonsense. Ruined his trip and cost us more money. Should have gone with RAC or AA. Would very been cheaper and better. Mickey Mouse set up this lot. Customer service was terrible too. Before thinking of joining Greenflag let me tell you of my experiance with them. We bought breakdown cover for my 19yr old daughter who has only been driving for a few months for peace of mind in the event she had a breakdown away from home. She is a trainee teacher and had to travel 30 miles to her school. Unfortunately she burst a tyre in a large pot hole and her car veered & spun before coming to a halt. “roadside fault”

On Wednesday evening (it's now Friday). Several warning lights and only firing on 3! The mechanic who attended located the fault very quickly, a faulty coil ignition pack and showed that the fault was not just a spark plug. This man was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Although the fault could not be fixed there and then (not his fault) he confirmed that I was able to drive home slowly and that he would follow me to make sure I got home OK.
