Exsus Travel

We called to get a quote from Exsus. The agent didn't pay enough attention to write down the correct dates for our holiday and sent us an itinerary for different dates. Their rates were so high that we called the hotels they listed to get rack rates. Apparently, someone at one of the hotels notified the Exsus agent and we received several hostile messages from the agent, despite the fact that we had no agreement or commitment to them. Part of the messages were supposed to "convince" us that the extra 3000 quid they wanted to charge (over rack rates!) was because we would get such "excellent service" they would provide. THREE THOUSAND POUNDS AS A SERVICE FEE! No way to justify that.

We decided to contact hotels and airlines directly and were better off for it.

We first got to know exsus travels through a family member and were quite skeptical to use them because we were going on our honeymoon and wanted our trip to be absolutely perfect. However, they came highly recommended to us and we took a chance on them. A chance that paid off very, very, well.

We planned a trip with Exsus to South America for one month and got in touch with a man who took great care of us on email, and was always ahead of time with his replies, always ready to go the extra mile to find out more information for us and adjust and change our itinerary to be what WE wanted, rather than what they offered. I believe we must have changed our itinerary at least 9 times during the course of the 4-6 months leading up to the actual travel dates. He was very knowledgeable about the destinations that we were going to be in (Chile, Brazil, Argentina) and he was able to answer almost ANY question that we had, which was something that eased our minds a lot. Finally, months after our review was finalized, we made that trip over to South America and all I can tell you is that Exsus arranged a travel schedule that blew our minds. We expected to have an awesome time, but with the way exsus planned it, we were both pampered, had an awesome time AND never at all lost or worried about anything during our trip. They were always on time to pick us, drop us, knew our schedules exactly where we needed to be next and it was great team work on their behalf.

Honeymoon gifts were then arranged for us at some hotels which we very much appreciated and feel like they went the extra mile again to make us satisfied and I don't think we could have asked for any more.

We are now back home, refreshed, over satisfied and cannot believe how fast one month passed by. I really cannot thank the man I dealt with and the Exsus team enough for creating a life long memory for my wife and I. After this travel, I don't think we can ever travel any other way. Thank you so much for making our trip such a huge success Exsus!

I recently used Exsus to book a 2 week holiday touring Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos. Exsus produced a great and very promising itinerary for me which got me really excited for my holiday. The trip completely lived up to my expectations and then some!! We stayed in some great, luxury hotels where we ate some of the most unbelievably amazing food and had a really fun, adventurous holiday packed with lots of activities (snorkeling with the sea lions, white water rafting down the Urubamba river and exploring Machu Piccu to name a few!). This trip was without a doubt one the best holidays I have ever been on and it was all thanks to exsus's knowledge of the hotels and activities on offer in South America. Would definitely recommend them to anybody looking to book a holiday that packs something special!

Just returned from a wonderful holiday in Kenya. Exsus organised a great safari/beach combination trip, incorporating some incredible properties along the way. They demonstrated good expert knowledge and really listened to our requirements. Would definitely recommend.

Exsus, an apparently reputed and reliable travel agency, ended up being the most corrupt and unfair agency we have ever come across in our extensive travel experience.

We booked our (extraordinarily) expensive Brazil World Cup 2014 trip through Exsus almost 8 months prior to the tournament. Below are a list of our severely disappointing and unacceptable experiences:

- We were promised the Copacabana Palace Hotel, 5 star accommodation in Rio, which is why we agreed to the highly expensive package of Exsus over any other agency. However, to our shock, their MD called us barely 20 hours before our flight to Rio for the final match, stating that our hotel reservation had been CANCELLED because Exsus' 'hotel supplier' was involved in the FIFA 2014 scandal!! WOW. All of our expectations and excitement went down the drain. Instead of the famous Copacabana Palace hotel which we paid a hefty amount for, they shifted us to a 3 star hotel which was of inferior quality and old. That hotel stank of dampness and the service of the staff were absolutely below standard. Most interestingly, what did they did here was absolutely unbelievable. In order to not have to provide us with a sufficient refund for this drastic change (which was totally their problem, not ours), they booked the Presidential Suite for us at the inferior hotel, WHICH WE DID NOT ASK FOR, stating that they paid a huge price for that. When we arrived at that hotel the suite was in a poor condition so we asked to be switched to a standard room, and to our surprise, the Manager told us that the suite was a FREE upgrade! We still didn't want it and stayed at a standard room. So yes, Exsus lied to us about paying for the suite, when in fact it was a free upgrade, in order to not have to provide us with a big refund for the hotel difference. 

- The 'Category A' seating tickets which we paid for 4 of the last matches were all borderline category 1-2 seating. Which means Exsus provided us the LEAST PREFERABLE category 1 tickets that were possibly available. Not something you'd expect when booking through such a 'reputed' travel agency.

- The ground agent of Exsus had ALMOST made us miss 2 flights, one from Belo Horizonte to Sao Paulo, and the other from Rio back to our home country. This was because Exsus had not set the pick up times properly and left sufficient time to reach the airport considering traffic and other factors. Pure UNPROFESSIONAL.

So yes, overall the trip was absolutely disappointing, Exsus ruined our once in a lifetime trip to Brazil and that too for the World Cup. After having several discussions with Exsus management about being refunded for all these issues and not receiving proper answers, we had no choice but to try and let the world know about this company and how they fail to deliver on promises, so that others don't suffer like we did.

Just back from the most amazing adventure in costs rica with my family. They knew the hotels well and took the time to get the perfect balance on our trip will be back again!

A very expensive company and limited specialist knowledge, i decided to book elsewhere for a fraction of the price.
