The Clips That Attach The Cleaning Cloth Have Brok

The clips that attach the cleaning cloth have broken and I now use large safety pins to do this, but apart from that we are pleased with the appliance

I Have Had A Great Time With This Simac Vapormax P

I have had a great time with this Simac Vapormax PC800, cleaning all that grunge from around the taps and inside the oven doors, and skirtings, windows, floors and general dog grunge. This is a great basic entry model continuous refill steam cleaner, with the basic range of accessories. Managed to get a great deal on a new one on ebay for £50. You can use any cloth clipped on, so that saves on buying spares. As other reviewers have said, I do not think the brush heads will last long, but I can get plenty done with the spray nozzle and a load of cloths for mopping up. I would love to be able to afford a vacuum steam cleaner, but as I cannot I am very pleased with the value this one offers. I would not as some people do think of cleaning upholstery or carpets a steam cleaner without a vacuum, but can hire a rugdoctor to do that.

It seems that there are no UK outlets to buy spare brushes or service, but ebay seller guarantees for 1 year against defects. Am off to Italy on holiday, will buy spare brushes there! Windows were a little streaky after using the squegee head attachement, still need a sort of chamois cloth to finish them off.

Economical, efficient, lightweight, quick to heat, continuous refill. small enough to store easily. Good value for money especially if bought at ebay prices. Gets the kids stickers off the windows like a drea

Oh dear this is my review, and sad to say after 25 days of cleaning joy the PC800 went pop, sprung a leak and works no more.... no uk service centres, hoping the ebay retailer will help, but so far no reply.....!!!

For A Small House (we Have A Three Bed) This Steam

For a small house (we have a three bed) this steam cleaner is perfect. Easy and quick to use and store. Love it and the price is fair, 80£. It uses any old cloth/towel and lasts for a long time. It has a long cable and a long hose. Perfect buy for a small household and for quick cleaning as well as thorough. The small brushes are indeed not good quality and hard to shop for. I called the after sales service at Domotec and they deliver 3 brushes for 9£.

The extension tubes are a bit small for a normal person even.

If You're After A Steam Cleaner, Consider This Sim

If you're after a steam cleaner, consider this Simac Vapormax PC800 - It's very cheap - much cheaper than the Polti brands for example, and is very well built. The machine is pleasing on the eye, but it is a shame that there's no space on the body to hold the wand and hose.

The hose is rugged and strong and the extension poles easy to add and remove. The handle is comfortable and the tools attach and remove easily.

Adding a cloth to the brush is easy, thanks to the super strong spring clips. Any towelling will do, and you don't need to buy expensive custom made cloths - these can cost as much as a fiver each! You do need lots of cloths handy or else you're soon mopping rather than steaming, and so the ability to use any cloths is a real bonus.

There are only 3 tools - a crevice tool, and window tool and a floor tool. I didn't find the window tool easy to use or vary practical but the floor tool works well and does what it claims to do. It also works well on walls and other hard surfaces.

I didn't have a lot of luck with carpets. Yes, you can do it, but I didn't find that doing so made much of a difference to cleaning the carpet. However, I did feel that using it reduced dust in the room and so it may be useful for that purpose.

It performs very well on tiled and line floors. It's really use to use and it does a great job. Stubborn marks come away quickly without scrubbing and floors dry very quickly owing to the heat in the steam. Dirt just seems to vanish, though heavy grease on kitchen tiles takes much longer to remove.

The small scrubbing brushes are hard to clean and they wear out quickly. However, the crevice tool on its own, with a cloth handy, does the same job and so the brushes are not really needed.

I decided to order the upholstery tool from Domotec - £20 plus £5 postage - and it is handy as a hand held tool for getting into smaller places. I haven't used it on upholstery though.

Overall I am very pleased with the purchase, though disappointed it doesn't do much on carpets. However, it is great on tiled floors and walls and does the kitchen lino amazingly and so I remain very pleased with this purchase.

Q&A

marilynmarriott

I have this steamer but it has stopped heating up, can I get it repaired ?

keswes

The after sales service numbers are no longer in use and we can no longer get help from after sales team. I have two Vapormax PC800 steam cleaners that don't work, no steam coming out. Does anyone know who can repair this steam cleaner? Simac don't seem to have any after sales service any more. Yet they are still on sale.

keswes

How do I reconnect the hose?

kjaand

What tool do I need to open up my Simac Vapormax PC800 steam cleaner? I need to open it up to put a spare part in but can't see what tool I need.
