“A Dinosaur for the modern age”

Written on: 21/12/2018 by McKinnonzl121 (1 review written)

Terrible money grabbing. For anything electrical use Ebay, Ebuyer, Amazon and obviously have a good search on Google for your reviews. These all have good review forums, obviously where applicable, make sure they have had a lot of positive feedback (1000s+ preferably). It was good back in the day as a magazine, before computers, not a subscription service you can get for free elsewhere!… Read Full Review

“Which Supermarket 2013 Aldi you must be joking”

Written on: 22/12/2013

This is why I would not pay any attention to the Which review people, because in their opinion Aldi is the best supermarket of 2013. If you have been to one you will know that you cannot get half of the big brands that are available in other supermarkets like Asda,Morrisons,Sainsburys and Tesco. Aldi also offer so called deals on electricals and other goods saying that when its gone its gone,if thats the case how do they back up these products with accessories and spares. The answer is that they… Read Full Review

“Which?”

Written on: 08/12/2013

The subscription charge for Which? is quite high but the content available, both online and in print is extensive and of good quality. The opinions on products made by the Which? team are obviously highly regarded by manufacturers, retailers and customers because a Which? 'best buy' award is always 'trumpeted' and the product is invariably sold-out within days of the award being given. Overall, subscribing to Which? is worthwhile but subscriptions costs do need to be carefully controlled in… Read Full Review

“Good but extremely expensive”

Written on: 27/11/2013

I use the reviews heavily, but the monthly subscription is making me think long and hard about cancelling. The other problem is that often the reviews get out of date, so you find the reviews are for products out of production, and the ones in the shops aren't yet reviewed… Read Full Review

“Reviews lack a 'sustainability' or ethical weighting”

Written on: 26/11/2013 by Deadpoet1 (1 review written)

Generally happy with the information received but I feel some weighting should be given to the ethical stance of the company eg how it treats its staff, environmental credentials etc, and also the sustainability of the product being reviewed- recycled content, ability to be recycled, sourcing of new materials used in construction etc etc. This would put an interesting tilt on all those 'best buy' Apple products (where does the tin come from and what are the working conditions of the… Read Full Review

“The reporting is getting too biased for my liking”

Written on: 26/11/2013

I remember when I used to always consult Which before any purchase...kept all the old magazines but very rarely do this now. My gripe is I am a computer techo and find the computer articles to be quite biased towards Apple products...yes we all know how nice touchy feely Apple products are and to give them their due most journalists use them in the print which is understandably why they always fare well. But the reality is that they are no better than a PC which is a lot cheaper to buy much… Read Full Review

“Campaign against Which? £1 trial offer”

Written on: 25/11/2013 by Disgustedatwhich (1 review written)

I want to launch a new campaign to make Which? stop scamming people into an expensive subscription through small print practices on the £1 trial offer. You should make it abundantly clear that without physically cancelling and contacting Which? customers will be liable for a staggering £9.75 a month. Although Which? does inform customers through an email that their subscription will be activated, it is an underhand and misleading way to sell your services. I have talked to several other… Read Full Review

“Using Which”

Written on: 24/11/2013

I like the review of goods and services. However I wish that Which would encourage members to send in personal reviews of goods and services they have used/purchased recently. I can only see a request to review Which. I appreciate that it could be time consuming. But I am sure that if readers reviews are 'deposited' in a site belonging to Which somewhere, that when it comes to doing your research, you will already have a great resource and wealth of feed-back to pick from at hand as part of… Read Full Review

“Out of Touch”

Written on: 24/11/2013

We never used to shop for a product without consulting our stack of Which? magazines. In recent years however we find not only do you review things in which we have no interest, but you place importance on the wrong things. eg quality of picture/print etc over ease of use and cost to run. I also feel "talked down to" when "looking after our interests". I'm forever saying I'll cancel the subscription but I still read the travel which (the others just get filed away, I haven't found out whether I… Read Full Review

“Not so good as they used to be”

Written on: 24/11/2013

When I first started my Which? subscription they were the only real independent review info I found I could rely on. Despite the extra cost of my subscription today, there is now a plethora of good review info on the net that is just as good as Which but you do have to hunt it out. Which?'s advantage is that the info is conveniently compiled into one specific article / place. The list of products reviewed doesn't seem as comprehensive as it used to be and invariably the make/model I'm… Read Full Review

“Misleading car prices”

Written on: 23/11/2013 by PeterLloyd (1 review written)

“Rip off - often no better than those it criticises!”

Written on: 23/11/2013

I find £10 for a monthly consumer magazine to be a rip off, whatever your arguments. I also do not like the patronising and "holier than thou" approach of Which? It is worth remembering no one is perfect in this world. And I find that some of the Which? habits are no better that those that Which? chooses to criticises. People in glass houses should not throw stones!… Read Full Review

“Holier than thou”

Written on: 23/11/2013 by Unimpressed2 (1 review written)

I have a number of issues with Which: 1.It is good at handing out criticism, but not at receiving it. By the tone of the responses I can only assume it employs ex BBC staff. Should Which require examples I will gladly furnish them. My criticism has related to the inaccuracy of their reports on technical products and also the abysmal performance of their own search engine. 2.The way information is presented on their website could be much improved. 3.Reviews of technology items often… Read Full Review

“ Which Switch assistance”

Written on: 22/11/2013

I was considering changing my electricity supplier, my current supplier was going to apply a 10.8% price increase this month and I tried another supplier but did not find this easy. I saw the Which Switch telephone number in the Which Magazine and rang, OK there was a waiting time but not as bad as when I tried phoning my current supplier. The person I spoke to was helpful, took time over making sure they had the right details and said they would explore the most favourable rate for me in the… Read Full Review
