I joined up for 12 weeks. six months later, I am still unable to cancel the subscription - which I am sure has raised in price, significantly more than the original agreed price for 12 weeks. Infuriating. You have to phone to cancel, and staff are not helpful once they know you want to cancel.

I took out a subscription online and actually its very good, with some good offers and deals and loads of good reporting. But I just couldn't get round to picking up the paper version and there's loads of free news, so why pay. I tried to cancel. You can't cancel without calling, and no-one answers the phone. After a number of attempts I cancelled the DD. That woke them up. Eventually I managed to cancel after paying the 'outstanding balance'. I have reported them to trading standards as I think this is inequitable.

I am always impressed with The Times as a newspaper and wanted a less biased view of events than other papers. I foolishly bought an 18 month subscription for the paper (which included a Nexus 7) as I didn't want a hard copy just wanted to be able to read easily while away from home. The Nexus 7 is great. The Times app is useless, and if I had done my homework properly before I would not have gone ahead with this and cancelled my previous Kindle subscription for my previous newspaper. I phoned to complain and was just told that they were not aware of any problems with the app - obviously they are not looking at Google play store comments then! I particularly disliked the fact that I was just told that as I had opened the Nexus box and it was longer than 7 days after the subscription was taken out, that nothing could be done. This was despite the fact that the Nexus took 10 days to arrive and then with the power cuts I could not charge up and use for another 5 days. Overall they just don't care as they have the money for the subscription. This is such a shame and I would feel very differently if there was at least some recognition that they have problems with the app rather than just saying it is Ok.

I read the times at least 3-4 times per week. they provide excellent coverage of national & international news plus sport, business and culture. They have a right wing stance and are a conversative paper - both in terms of opinion and also political affiliation (liberals steer clear)

The Times is my personal favourite newspaper you get a good solid amount of news without too much political spin. I'm a big sports man and love my football. The Times generally offer more indepth articles and interviews with players, without trying to be too arty or wishy washy like the guardian. Top journalists, top paper. Only prob is it's a bit big, but they've now made it for commuters on trains in a tabloid size, which is good step.
