We Went To Alvor For The First Time, I Found It To
We went to Alvor for the first time, I found it to be very clean, the locals were happy to see you, very friendly. Lots of bars and Restaurants, very quiet by day but the place to be by night. Also the weather is very hot, for all you sun worshippers out there.
My Family And I Stayed In The Dunas Do Alvor Apart
My family and I stayed in the Dunas Do Alvor apartments in Alvor in July 2006, and we had a wonderful, relaxing holiday.
We found the local Portuguese people to be friendly and helpful.
Alvor is a pretty fishing village, which, though becoming more popular, retains its charm. There is an abundance of choice of pavement cafes, bars and restaurants, with something to suit everyone. The restaurants down by the harbour are particularly good (if slightly more pricey), specialising in fish and prawns.
In the evening we enjoyed a drink in the town square before heading down one of the many cobbled streets, in search of a bargain in the shops, having a drink and a meal and watching the world go by.
The vast beach is absolutely stunning, with clean, white sand, crystal clear waters and wonderful views. There are plenty of sunloungers, with shade, available to hire, and a choice of restaurants and snack bars right on the beach.
Alvor is in a good, central position, with other resorts easily reached by taxi or bus. Tickets must be purchased at the ticket office in the Town before getting the bus. I'd recommend a visit to the nearby resort of Lagos - it's similar to Alvor only bigger, while also retaining it's charm.
I'd recommend a visit to Alvor in Portugal!
