“Hit by a stolen car”

We were hit by a stolen car whilst parked up in the middle of the night. ERS have inexplicably deemed it our fault!!! Our broker argued for 2 days but they are refusing to budge as they claim they need to blame someone and as the driver ran away then they have to blame me!!!!!! I was in bed asleep!!!!!!! After 2 attempts to report my very first accident with Adrian Flux it was on the 3rd attempt I had the confidence all had been logged. 3 days later the first contact with the ever delightful and trustworthy professionals ERS was made. Since then it has been nothing but hardwork worrying unpleasant to the point of illness with how ERS deal with claims. I recently had my scooter stolen and although it was the AA who I insured it through it was in fact ERS who were the underwriters. From the first call to their claims dept through to my settlement was absolutely top class service. I was treated with sympathy and in a civil and polite manner, something I had not experienced with my last insurer! “STAY AWAY FROM ERS”

One of the worst companies to have insurance . Send you on goose chases. Very poor In handling claims. Rude customer service. Was the cheapest price at compare the market and now I understand why. A decision that I truly regret almost 8 months later. Even if someone hits you you will have to pay you excess and then hope they can claim it back. Totally agree with your point slow, in addition they breach their contract, provide misleading information to rip customers off has anyone ever reported them to the ombudsman one asks?

Had an accident that left my vehicle in a state where i was not able to drive it home. called through to Equity who initially said my car would be repairable so i would get a courtesy car. this was at 9am on Friday morning I then waited for 2 hours for the garage to call me back - they didn't, so i called them, only for them to tell me they had no recovery vehicle to collect my car, and could not offer a courtesy car as they didn't have any spare. I'm in the process of claiming with ERS - and phone them on a Friday afternoon recently. The guy that answered my call didn't seem to want to know my problem as a party in the office was happening, I could hear the whoops and whistles in the background!

“Hit by third party, not their problem”

I was hit at the beginning of last month by a third party, the third party have tried to dispute liability. Despite video evidence being submitted to both insurance companies, ERS have told me unless I make a claim on my own insurance they have no outlay and will not look to argue the case. They are great at taking your premium but if you make a claim that's when my problem started, because a deer run through a hedge and I could not do anything but hit it they concluded it was my fault and not only that because they say it was an unidentifiable third party I would not be allowed a replacement car while my claim went through, of course the next problem was the payout, they Sent me a cheque relatively quickly but a lot less than it would cost me to get a replacement vehicle… Read Full Review

“1 star is too much for this company!!”

My taxi is insured with Equity Redstar and ever since it was in an accident on 1st November 2016, , which sadly resulted in the death of the driver. ago I have had nothing but hassle and problems from ERS. Since this last phone call to the offices last week where advisors continually spoke over me, argued with me and asked me to phone Hyundai in Korea myself!! am in sameish problem had house broken into on sept 12th been a nightmare eversince had to wait a day for them to accept claim took car away to get new locks wanted excess and ncb when policy states no loss on key claims garge fit locks but cant start car supposed to go to main dealer on 16 10 2017 now put off until 8 11 2017 have disabled mother that cant take shopping as loan car too small taxi fares costing me a fortune how this company is in business I don't know

Avoid this company,if you want your life to be a big mess then buy from this company ,Brokers selling insurance policy cheaper using comprehensive words to confuse customers .When it comes to a claim staff pass the ball to each other.Too slow. “The worst insurance company you could imagine”

On a non fault claim. ERS breached their contract multiple times. Incompetent with obtaining liability. Lied about valuations. Settled with 3rd party (having lied them that I agreed settlement) while we were in dispute for a much higher price than they were offering me and scrapped my car without my knowledge or consent. Apart from your issue with the scrapped car the rest is a mirror image of what I have experienced. It seems that this is the normal way of conducting their business by the sound of it.
Have you complained or taken your issue to the ombudsman? what was the outcome

Yes I did and it was a complete waste of time. It went to Lloyds who were not impartial and then the Ombudsman. ERS boasted that the Ombudsman would back them up because 'we pay their salary'. Shockingly the ombudsman completely ignored their contract and ruled in their favour. I asked for a subject access request and found an internal email from a senior ombudsman to another sarcastically deciding to side with ERS. My complaint of bias was agreed and I was awarded a pathetic £50. ERS got away with ££££. While we have an influenced ombudsman it is in insurance companies interest to continue to rip off customers (the ombudsman told me they would not fine ERS even if they ruled in my favour). My advice would be to avoid the ombudsman and take them to court.

“nuisance telephone calls”

I was involved in an accident that was not my fault nearly 15 months ago, since then I have had about3-4 nuisance calls about claiming for injuries, it appears ERS sells your information and causes this problem also due to ERS high cost phone line expect to be kept on the line waiting for up to an hour costing you a fortune they will say its because they are so busy (bull SH)you get straight through if you are buying insurance, the company should be prosecuted for giving out private information… Read Full Review

My car was stolen it has now been 6 weeks since claim was put through they changed there minds 3 times in wether to write off my car when it was found or repair it, police have them a full statement after forensics came back and have a warrent for the arrest and ers still have not "validated my claim" they are jokers never ever use them! Taken a over to deal with our claim, resulting in us being out of pocket by thousands of pounds. ERS admitted liability for the delay but refused to reimburse us with what we had to pay out as a result (HGV hire charges). My first experience of car insurance was made completely awful by this company. I was looking for learners insurance which they offer supposedly a very value for money policy for. Apart from at no point in the application process or small print do they make you aware they do not cover certain industries. They allow you to pay for a policy, accept a non-refundable £45 SET-UP fee, then refund your refundable money, keep the £45 set-up fee having not set anything up...
