“Car servicing plan”

Wanted a 2 year servicing deal from Honda Lowestoft and was given a quote which I thought was fairly expensive so tried Honda Holden in Norwich. The costs were fairly similar but Lings were unable to negotiate a cheaper price. I have used Lings for over 20 years indeed have bought 5 cars over this time and had no problems but with times as they are have decided to take my business elsewhere.

Purchased a 2015 Honda Jazz and the experience was great from start to finish. The salesman was a lovely guy and went the extra mile saving us over three hours of driving by meeting us with our car nearer to our home. Car is brilliant so we can definitely recommend HONDA Lowestof.

“DO NOT TRUST”

I've been lucky to have quite a few cars in my time, both new and used. I've dealt with quite a few garages and sales men and I'm sure that it's an inherent trait, reasonably, to build up their goods to make a sale. I must say this outfit were very good at this.  I bought a Honda sports car from them; nice car, expensive, but during the meetings I had with Lings I had been mislead, several times as to it's history and even shown some legal records that were available containing false hoods. Their own warrantee was not worth the paper it's was written on as the service history promised, never showed up. Further investigations with Honda direct, gave a little more insight to the car in that they had not serviced it within the last 5 years. I'm not going on any more, even though there is. I admit to being an idiot for trusting a dealer who I thought was good, being a main Honda dealer as well. So I guess it's my fault, I lost a lot of money though cheap tactics, not expected from such a place. What you hope to buy from these people is not necessarily what you expect Your choice!!

I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for the help and guidance which was provided in a very professional and friendly manner when I recently purchased a new Honda Jazz from Lings of Lowestoft. I would have no hesitation in recommending this garage to potential customers for their attention to detail and all round customer service. My new Jazz replaced an 11 year old model and I was a little concerned about familiarising myself with the new technology and controls. However, no worries whilst I sat in the drivers seat, I was talked through and shown the workings of each aspect of the controls - a very thorough handover. Once again my thanks to the Transaction Manager and his team.

“Never again”

Had my Honda jazz serviced here for 5 years until after the last service I was told that it would be dangerous to drive it away as both the rear suspension legs were leaking badly. Was quoted about £350 plus Vat for the job. Took the car straight to a garage that specialises in suspensions and was told after they examined it that NO WORK was needed as there were no leaks. The next day I took the car for an MOT and 2 MOT inspectors examined the suspension at my request and both stated that the suspension was fine and had never leaked. Will never go there again.

“Great Service, Fair price”

I visited Lings Honda Lowestoft for a service after having it recommended to me. Previously I had used independent garages but thought I would give them a try. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised, The staff were really considerate and attentive making me feel like a valued customer, they spoke to me about any issues they found even taking the time to describe what the pieces were and what they did ( I'm at a bit of a loss when it comes to mechanical things to do with cars). They explained what work needed doing and how long it would take. I then sat back and enjoyed my very nice free coffee and waited for the work to be completed. Then came the time that time we all dread, the work was completed on the car and it was time to pay the bill, what a surprise that was. It came to less then I thought it was going to, which totally cheered me up. They spoke to me also about their service plans, which I would of taken up on this car but I am looking to sell it in a few months otherwise I would of signed up. Overall a great experience was made of a sometimes mundane and sometimes expensive task. I would rate the whole team and quality of workmanship as very high and would highly recommend their service to all. To sum it up They provided a great service, at a fair price.

“Do not buy from this Garage!!!”

Worst after care experience I have ever had in my life. Major fault with my Car after only 2 months of purchase, Lings have consistently lied to me about what has been done to my Car , pretended fault had been fixed, when infact all they had done was an oil change! The only reason I found out they'd lied was because I found the invoice from another Garage they'd sent my car to, down the side of my seat! The rude, arrogant Manager just smirked & laughed at me when I informed him of this. They kept my car for a month, & took 2 weeks before they even booked it in to coopers of Norwich & when I queried this, ( I checked with the bmw Garage they'd sent my Car to) they said it was because a member of Staff had been rushed to Hospital & they didn't know what my car was in for?!! Laughable, especially when I'd spoken to 4 different members of staff in person! I have had to go back in to Garage 3 times to complain about the major fault & other various things wrong with car, which they still didn't get fixed despite having my car for a month! After the third time, & having to deal with the rude, smirking Manager once again, he blamed it all on coopers bmw why the faults hadn't been fixed, yet when I then phoned Coopers again, they confirmed all Lings asked them to do, was an oil change. It has a major mechanical fault with the engine cutting out, & was told Lings need to ask Cooper to do diagnostics on that! I effectively driving 3 little children around in a death trap right now, and guess what, after going in Tuesday to complain, & told it will be booked back in to bmw asap, I phone Coopers Friday as have heard nothing from Lings still, and it still hadn't been booked in!!!! So Trading standards & legal action now, avoid this Garage like the plague!

“Poor, very poor. Even worse customer support.”

“Motorcycle Service and MOT”

To put this in to context I have been using Lings for over 15 years and I have brought both motorbikes and new cars from them. However, having previously providing a very good service, they are now at best POOR. - Did not return calls when promised. - Did not carry out work as requested. - Did not provide correct paperwork to show service had been carried out (and even after hastening have still not provided). - Did not adequately deal with my initial complaint to correct the situation and gave very lame excuses for incompetence; lets hope Lings Managing Director or Honda UK Customer Services can rectify this sorry situation. I recommend using a different Honda Main Dealer; it will be worth the travel!

“Can't fault the car.”

I picked up my new Jazz, I am very pleased with it. The service I received was very friendly and fair. They are working in difficult conditions, I admire the way things are achieved. Unfortunately one oversight was they sold my old Jazz with the Tax disc still having six months to go. I asked how I go about claiming it back and was told - too late - car sold. How can you sell a car not knowing it was still taxed for six months. I just feel they took advantage of my good nature. I did mention it when purchasing my beautiful new Jazz. I felt unhappy, so now have got it off my chest feeling better.

“Avoid at all costs! ”

I can't believe this company is still running. From the management down this company hasn't got a clue. I recently tried to book my car in for a service. Rang three times no answer. I then emailed them twice. One from their website and one from paperwork I have. No answer! I've dealt with Lings Lowestoft in the past & they seem to be getting worse every year! It seems that nobody has a clue what's going on. It seems like a complete disorganised mess! I have taken my business as I'm sure most people have to Holden Honda Norwich. Which isn't local to me by any means but to be honest the service I received while there was second to none! If you fancy giving your money to a company that 1. Doesn't have a clue 2. Doesn't care for the customer 3. Fancy paying £2000 more for a car that you can get anywhere else but with terrible service! From the Sales manager to the service manager there seems to be no experience or customer service at all. My advice... Avoid like the plague!!

“Outraged Customer”

Dear Sir I am absolutely outraged by the service I received on Thursday 26th January. Firstly, I felt disappointed that the Ling’s Honda had not bothered to contact me when my car was ready despite me informing them that I waiting in Lowestoft until it was ready. I then rang myself to be told that the car was ready but the quote was still being prepared. As well as the inefficiency of this service, I was more angered about the discourtesy of not contacting me. When I arrived I was asked to pay £90 for the work done today. Now, as the Managing Director of the largest livestock haulage company in East Anglia, I am more than familiar with dealing with Garages, and payment is always made upon completion of all the work. Whilst I respect that Ling’s have a different policy, I simply passed comment upon the policy as it is unusual. The receptionist greeted this with a remark that: “you cannot trust anybody these days”. This accusatory remark I find both personally offensive and unacceptable; as well as a clear illustrator of her professional inappropriateness and ineptness. Upon the receptionist’s insulting response I requested the name of the Manager to contact at a later date, however she responded that I should speak to him now. Far from the more professional correspondent I had anticipated, his bad-manners actually surpassed that which I had just experienced. He actually laughed at me whilst I was explaining my issue. His opinion that it is acceptable to smirk at a customer not only portrayed his disgraceful customer service skills but epitomised his arrogance. He loudly said: “I am not prepared to discuss this matter on the shop floor”. However despite his unwillingness to discuss the issue on the shop floor, he offered me no opportunity to discuss it elsewhere; thus giving me opportunity to discuss it at all. After the ordeal I paid the money and walked to my car, with my friend, dissatisfied with the service. However, when I got to the car the window was not done up. I felt uneasy and anxious returning as I had been made to feel so uncomfortable. So, after being rudely informed that it was Ling’s policy to pay before completion of the work, I had paid £90 in good faith believing that the window was at least done up. So as well as discourtesy, I was provided with shabby workmanship. When I returned to inform the Manager that the car window was open, he outright asked me: “did you undo the window.” I was further insulted by this patronising question, as a highly qualified and successful individual I am not used to being spoken down to by any one, least of all somebody who according to your website is supposed to be: “providing customer service second to none”. Well more than a joke, this claim is an outright lie. He then grabbed my keys from me and drove my car away like me was on Santa Ponsa race track leaving us standing outside in the cold. I was horrified by this blatant disrespect for my property. Furthermore, my friend and I were not invited to sit back inside or offered a coffee or anything. I definitely did not “feel welcome to come in for a chat and a coffee.” After being forced to wait a further 20 minutes, when the Manager returned he simply handed me the keys. I waited expectantly for him to say something and after a good 20 seconds asked: “Do you have anything to say?” His juvenile response was: “What!” When I continued that an apology would have been appropriate he had the same smarmy attitude as before. However again before leaving, by this point deeply dissatisfied with the service, he loudly covered himself by proclaiming: “you did not give me a chance to apologise”. Upon leaving my friend and I were discussing our disbelief at the way we had been treated; another lady listened and swiftly went over to her other colleagues. I am rather concerned that this complaint will not be investigated as the staff involved in this incident seem to be in an allegiance. I had intended to return my car to have the work done Monday 30th January, however due to the utter disrespect and rudeness I was greeted with I am unable to return to that building, therefore you have lost my custom for life. I have cancelled the cheque as the work was not carried out correctly initially, I am emotionally traumatised and I refuse to pay for a service which I did not receive. If any of my employees behaved this way I would want to be informed immediately and would investigate the issue thoroughly. I strongly advise that in the interest of salvaging your company’s reputation you promptly do likewise. As Ling’s promote that they “Offer Additional Peace of Mind with a Winter Service”; I felt that it was fitting that you received a piece of mine. Jane Ling

“Top Class, Amazing, Great customer service”

I recently bought another honda, ive just moved into the area and have bought honda before but this was the first time i have used Lings, I must admit i was very pleased with the service i recieved, from being greeted by a helpful friendly receptionist to the amazing sales staff, i thought i knew about hondas till i spoke to these guys, very helpfull and informative, made my buying experience the best i have ever had, i have also since serviced my wifes car with lings and again was very impressed, i work alot of hours and have not much spare time but needed to get my wifes car (again a Honda) an MOT and sevice so the helpful service department picked up my car from where i work and even dropped off a coutesey car for if i needed. The service didnt stop there as they also dropped of my Honda back to my work later that day. The car was immaculate they cleaned and valeted it and even gave me a little discount on the work carried out! Amazing First class. I will be using and recommending these guys time and time again!

“I have been using Lings Honda dealership ever since I...”

I have been using Lings Honda dealership ever since I moved to this area. However I took ma Honda Civic in yesterday to have the MOT done. I asked for a few things to be done, as well like fit a new wiper blade and I also asked if they could put some new batteries into to my key fobs. I also explained that I had a problem with the locks. I was told that as the alarm was not a Honda alarm they would not put the batteries into the fobs.....Now I should say here that they are right the alarm is not a Honda one, but the reason for that is that Honda stopped making the alarm for my car, so I had to go with another make when mine broke.
They also said that they would not look at the problem with the locks. So I had to get another garage to change the batteries in the fobs, and to look at the problem with the lock. It turned out that the problem with the lock was that a Honda part which was a small moter in the Drivers door had gone on the blink. So the other garage put a new one in and now my locks work. No thanks to Lings Honda. Would you call this good service?

“I've been using Lings for Honda motorcycles for over...”

I've been using Lings for Honda motorcycles for over 12 years and have never had a problem with thier service on new or second hand bikes. Their own warrenty is very good (3 months) and when I have had a problem its been resolved Immediatly. To the point that when the bike has not been a honda they've sent me to the main dealer to get it fixed and picked up the bill. Great Deals, but deal with the Chief not the Indians.

“I did not buy a car from Lings Honda in Lowestoft,...”

I did not buy a car from Lings Honda in Lowestoft, however, when the head gasket went on my 1996 Honda Prelude 2.2vtec I took it to them to have it fixed. The quote they gave me over the phone beat all of the other independent garages and dealerships in the area and when I got there to drop the car off and collect the written quote the price had reduced slightly!!! They quoted the price based on an expectation of 6 hours labour, however it ended up taking 18 hours, about 5 people, two broken wrenches and a lot of sweat to fix the gasket! They honoured their quote and to my mind the work they carried out was exceptional. I would consider going to Lings with any mechanical problems and would do the same when needing to purchase a new car.

Well done Lings!
