not sure where these 5 star reviews come from, claiming to speak with an advisor when the fact is, its live chat only, considering called ONE CALL, you can't speak to anyone, however the one star from myself is based on an appalling service and extortionate charge to cancel a policy , a years policy was £360, insured for 5 months only, to cancel it was £271 !!! DO NOT USE These , worst company i've used in 33 years !!! you will never speak to anyone. terrible , look at all the one star reviews, its for a reason..this is what you get for a cheap quote !!!

After two months, I am still waiting for my car to be repaired, this company is worse than poor. They have no call centre, and the chat system disconnects after about 3 minutes. Am now contacting the ombudsman, this company needs shutting down. Do not use this rubbish company

Someone has raised an accident report against my car from 6 months ago which never happed (administration error). The One Call admin team have been unable remove the entry on my account or actioned any evidence sent over, which means now that my insurance is up for renewal, I am unable to insure my car as all other insurers wont insure me because I have no information about a claim against me that didn't happen. Now I am unable to drive my car which is effecting my ability to work as a community physiotherapist. Tried to raise a complaint but the complaints team were unable to register the complain, were rude and not understanding of my situation. I Will not use this insurer again, and am definitely going to pay the £20-£30 more for a company that has a good customer services reputation.

The reason I chose to insure with One Call as opposed to another insurer (who were offering slightly cheaper insurance) is because of the service I received by a particular member of staff. I was extremely stressed and upset this year due to the increase in costs and other factors. The man who helped me on chat rang me two days in a row to sort out the issue and went to painstaking efforts to look for a competitive deal that would suit my needs. I really felt that he genuinely cared and his level of patience was just astounding as he was also dealing with other customers at the same time as me. If I had not have received this level of service I probably would have gone elsewhere to save a few pounds. Thank you for taking away my stress and being so understanding.

There is no call centre, online chat takes half an hour and disconnects before you can get to someone. Change of vehicle costs a fortune and cancellation another 100% of your original bike insurance. Even if you proceed to amend vehicle details cover is demoted to third party and there’s no way to change it. Unless you pay again £££ to change details again.

I purchased a policy with 1 call last year. When I decided to cancel policy due to having Cancer and deciding to sell the car, one Call made life very difficult for me do this. I constantly told One Call to terminate policy. This Company should be investigated. A very bad experience indeed.

I was charged 25% extra last minute for my policy renewal for an accident that was not my fault and one i didnt even claim any repairs to my car. Unbelievable!!! As others say the CS is terrible, online chat which takes ages. no phone number.

Avoid at all costs. Garden wall came down in the night and OneCall took 30 minutes to find the policy on the phone, put me through to Arkel, who took another 45 minutes to do the same. 24 hours later they came back saying actually its a third and fourth company, Davies Management Solutions that I need to talk to. You take out insurance in the hopes that you'll get help when you need it. This entire operation is a shell inside a shell inside a shell of another company of a shell. Don't waste your time, stick with a reputable company who won't make you fight to deliver the basics of the policy.

Customer Service - absolute rubbish Called "One Call" - but you can't call, online messaging only Got charged £90 admin fee for not supplying the correct information we had already uploaded via their online portal twice. Received only 1/2 money back and message was abruptly ended. Now being told we can't add our daughter as a new learner, they want a £49 admin fee to change us to another provider who can supply us with the correct insurance. Can't wait to leave this policy/Company

Was very pleased with service provided today. All queries dealt with promptly. Only problem was very long wait before chat started. At least I could see my place in queue- number 53- but it was over 30 minutes before my chat began.

Refused to cancel my car insurance, sent documents late, charged me more than at the time of purchase, increased the window excess higher than at the time of purchase and tried to sell me more insurance.

Agent An asset to Onecall. Due to an error NOT Onecalls fault I received a cancellation letter out of nowhere. Got on to Onecall who within an hour had found the error ( again NOT their fault ) and remedied it very quickly and effectively and at no extra cost to myself. Due to mental health issues I was in a bit of a mess when I rang as it sent my anxiety through the roof. The agent was very understanding of my situation and reassuring in the fact he would sort it no matter what which lessened the stress off me. Bit of a dodgy start to the day but once I got through they were very helpful and speedy in sorting the issue for me. In my opinion this agent went beyond any other companies I've used before and handled the situation extremely well and was calmed my panicked state. Helped me out in more than one way and saved my day. Agent is worth his weight in gold.

I have waited two months and my car has still not been repaired. It is impossible to talk to a human being. Their chatbots moved me from one department to another with no one able to deal with the simplest of issues. They refused to let my own garage repair it and instead have made me waste hours of my time chasing them up getting nowhere. It is certainly not suitable for anyone without hours to spare doing their job for them like sending constant pictures. Without doubt it is the worst service I have received in over 40 years

Why is this company impossible to contact. Every direction for contacting them is circular. There is no phone number, the portal doesn't work, the live chat goes back to the contact page. To complain it's via letter to a PO box. USELESS, USELESS, USELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER USING THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

I was quoted £244 to insure my motor car which I accepted and paid in full, there was an additional charge of £27.74 which I was unaware of. The insurance certificate was not made available until nine days after payment. I did make an error in stating that my no claims were nine years when in fact it was eight. I was then charged an extra £92.33 bringing the cost of my policy to £366. I enquired on the chat service about cancelling the policy and was told that it would cost £85 to cancel. There was a cancellation fee of £49.99 plus a fee of 35.04 for time insured, nine days. I would not recommend One Call to anyone as the eventual costs can become much higher than the original quote, there is no telephone service and the chat line can cut you off. In all, the service provided by One Call is expensive and dreadful.

I was trying to either change my insurance to a new vehicle' or alternatively' cancel my existing policy which had 6 months to run. Nowhere is there a number you can use to do this, instead you must go on line, and endlessly queue( I was 52 in the queue ) to "speak" to an agent, what they mean is; type in questions and answers for well over an hour, whilst they attempt to sell you all manner of other things. The quote for changing my car ( which I eventually got after insisting ) was a little less than a whole new policy with a different insurer, and there would be NO refund of the 6 months still to run. Before I managed to nail down the figures, the agent tried to get me to increase my policy with at least 3 additional services, despite my repeated request for a straight quote, and/or a refund amount. What a total waste of time, I also have my home insurance with One Call and I'll be cancelling that come the renewal. Frustration doesn't even come close to describing my feelings. Buyer beware they are cheap for a reason!!!!!!!!!!!

JP1 dealt with us for a renewal quote to add our daughter. He was very proffesional and courteous and the quotation was cheaper than any other we had found. Being a long time customer service manager it was great to deal with an agent who called back at exactly the time promised and also a company that allowed this to happen. Thw initial waiting time for the call to be answered was long but at least JP1 was given the time to deal with the call properly once he was connected and allowed to call me back rather than pass it on to another team. Well done all

I want to get the message out there that this is one (if not) the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I Suffered a motorway breakdown last October and was stranded on the Hard Shoulder of the M62 for almost 3 hours, The One Call contact numbers I had stored in my phone did not work and I was met with a voice mail advising that the offices were now closed and to log into the on line portal. This would be an ask in any situation let alone in the cold and rain with traffic thundering by at 70mph. It transpired that they had sent my documents to an invalid Email address therefore locking me out of the Portal. I Paid £150 to an independent recovery company (which at the time and given the circumstances I was more than happy to do) whilst waiting for the recovery company I rang the only One Call number I could connect to which was their claims department. I had a conversation with an actual person for around two minutes but despite my pleas for help they refused to put me through to the Customer Services Department. I was extremely fortunate that Highways England came along at the right time and offered me dry warm clothing and allowed me to sit in my car to make some emergency calls. Unfortunately my complaint against One Call Direct was rejected by the Ombudsman. Which given that only 35% actually do succeed was hardly surprising. The reasons they gave was that my Call had not been logged or recorded as it was under 3 minutes long, therefore they could see no wrong doing. The whole sorry situation was trivialised and I felt victim blamed by this company. I immediately cancelled my dd and amazingly received a call from One Call asking if there was anything they could do to help! It seems that when they want your money they will offer you the moon on a stick. In future I will pay more mind to reviews of Car Insurance Companies with a good contactable Customer Services Department Who can at least offer an amount of Empathy and understanding to a person in a distressed and vulnerable situation.

I totally agree with these comments. Very competitive prices when comparing quotes, but if you have ANY problems, or changes, you WILL GET FLEECED.
Be aware people.
They are also extremely difficult to get in touch with.
