Great food, The pasta dishes are authentic and the steak dishes are done to a turn. The service is friendly & atmosphere is cosy.

Only problem is when its full up!

My husband and I recently visited Donato's as I won a meal for two there on our local radio station. I was pleasantly surprised by the relaxed but professional feel of the restaurant whilst still managing to have a cosy feel to it. It was hard to make a choice of meal as there were so many good looking things to choose from so I would imagine there would be something to suit most peoples taste. A big thankyou to Donato's for giving such a generous prize.

If you like Italian food, and even if you don't, Donato's Italian restaurant in Exmouth is the place to go. It is small and has a cosy atmosphere. The service is second-to-none. The garlic mushroom starter is mmmmm! I am not a big fan of pizza or spaghetti, so I usually opt for one of the steak dishes, which are cooked to perfection, the way you like, and served with a plate of vegetables and another of cubed chipped potatoes. More than I can eat usually!

You are never rushed, and you are asked after main course if you would like desert or a rest first, or a drink to finish.

This place is very popular amongst the locals, but it could be hard to find if you do not know the area well, as it is on the lower floor of The Royal Beacon Hotel and can only be seen by a small side entrance. The proprietor (who IS Italian) takes an active role in the running of the restaurant, and he ensures all his customers are well satisfied and happy with their meals.

I was recommended to this restaurant, and I would certainly recommend it to others!
