“This is most definitely not the Debenhams that has...”

This is most definitely not the Debenhams that has been a British institution over many years it's now run by a scandalous and apalling group of people who behave disgracefully towards customers. I’ve hade a good experience last year when I ordered something from them but just two days ago I needed two items and paid next day delivery because I need to use it today but I found only one item I send an email but yet no reply I’m very disappointed too

absolutely terrible service! I received 5 separate parcels, and 19 emails for one order! .. for all the secret shoppers trying to hide deliveries from partners - Debenhams would be the worst place to shop because you’ll receive many parcels even if you placed one order. “Terrible Delivery Service”

I ordered a nest of chrome and glass tables from Debenhams Direct. It arrived as a flatpack. When it was opened two of the glass shelves were shattered. I had the unenviable job of emptying the shattered glass before repackaging it to send back. Then spent a lot of time vacuuming to get rid of all the splintered glass. “Need to do better for environment ”

I ordered a few items in the Debenhams online sale and went to collect it. I had no issues with the order and in general I do not have any issues with Debenhams online/in-store. However when I collected my order - all of which were ordered at the same time, I was given 2 parcels, both in plastic wrapping/bags but in order to carry them I had to buy a bag which I found ludicrous. Cancelled my order and cant tell me the reason why but took the money out my giftcard so I cant re-order, customer service staff didn't have a clue and customer liason were as useful as a chocolate teapot when it came to a resolution. “Terrible Rtns Plcy, Bad Customer Service & Censored...”

We ordered two single guest beds, four single mattresses, and a large chesterfield sofa. Delivery: Unless it's a made to order item, delivery is only during the week inside working hours. So no customer convenience there then. Also, unless it's a made to order item, they will not deliver above the ground floor of your home address. “Bad customer service”

After three weeks of waiting,trying to contact Debenhams every way possible, even by phone; which calling from Italy during office hours is very expensive, I finally got the jacket I ordered. “Pregnant- no maternity clothes and no refund ”

I spent £85.40 on some maternity clothes on 14th Feb. Before ordering I noticed that the system still had my old address. Placed an order on Friday and got 2 separate e-mails one stating my order had been received and another later stating order being processed. I ordered some school shoes from the Debenhams website, they were competitive on prices and the site was really easy to use. They took 3 days to arrive which is a good delivery time, the only thing that let them down is the items were delivered by someone in a car and im guessing their heavy smokers as the bag absolutly stank of cigarettes which i hate! luckily the shoes inside didnt smell. so i wont be using debenhams online again for that reason… Read Full Review

“Not a live website!”

I was recently assured that a product was out of stock. So, why did it show as available on the website? It allowed me to take the item to the checkout stage and then asked for my card details. This is just the last problem in a long list with Debenhams. They do not ever go that extra mile to satisfy their customers. “Great furniture, shame about lengthy wait for it”

“Outrageous returns policy”

I bought a pair of boots that were the wrong size and it's taken me a month to get my money back. They don't tell you when you look at the returns policy that even if you return the item by courier the courier can take up to 2 weeks to get the product back to the store - so by the time you return the item you can be waiting up to a month before you get your money back. Yes i agree. Bought a dress online,it arrived 8th march.did not fit so posted back to them on the 9th.Its now the 25th march and they have still not returned my money.Took ages to find a number to ring today for their returns.I was told they would look into it,but could be another 3-5 days before i get money refunded.Just to let you know i also returned a jacket the same day to John Lewis.Money was returned in 4 days.Shame on you Debenhams!
