“I have 3 pdp/pacific kits, pdp x7,pdp cx,pdp 805”

★★★★★

I love all 3 kits, they all have different awesome qualities. First is the x7 maple drums.... i have the silver sparkle fade, really awesome looking definatly want to chnage the heads to get a great sound, i recomend evans ec2's and the emad. The only thing i changed was i swapped out the snare.. really didnt like how it sounded. Hardware for this kit is great, very dependable, never had problems with anything....and for those having trouble tuning your drums make sure you've changed the heads, the stock ones are junk. Second kit is the cx maple drums......i have the black onyx, really cool looking and like the x7 you want to change the heads from the stock ones....very versitile kit for many genres... im very pleased with how well this kit records, kick sounds amazing. Definatly very reasonable prices for these kits... Third but not least is the 805 birch drums.......i have the black on black....by far my favorite i must say, best sounding snare out of the 3...its the 13x7.....has 20x18 virgin kit thats just perfect, i also bought the 10x7 side snare which i fell in love with and it replace my 600$ custom acrylic side snare... not only are these drums awesome sounding, they are very inexpensive. Last thing is, ive been playing drums for 15 years. Ive played on expensive kits, and my opinion is there right up there with quality but for price you cant beat it. I highly recomend purchasing a pdp kit of any series.

I have had various 2nd hand kits which I was always pleased with.I brought my 1st brand new kit, the p.d.p x7. I have had the kit for 1 year, it has never left the house or gigged, which previous second hand kits I have had, have had a hard gigging life. The veneer wrap on three of the drums has peeled away and the powder coating on the rims has flaked off. Will not be recommending this kit to anyone.

I just bought a set of x7. I am having a little trouble with the tuning of the smaller toms. However, the bass drum and floor toms sound awesome. My set is red to black fade, and it is beautiful. Great value, and the hardware is very good. I played pearl exports, and ludwigs. For the money, you can't beat the pdp x7.

I bought a set of DW Pacific PDP drums used for $400 bucks. You won't find drums that sound this good anywhere for that kind of money. I have two other kits that I paid quite a bit more money for, that I don't like to play as much as these.

Good sound in general, good look too! I have a CX series in white oyster, and it looks nice on stage. I have used this same kit ina recording studio last Saturday, and the engineer was crazy about it! I like the sound of the Bass drum and snare drums. It reminds me of old rogers drumset. The company dont make CX series drumset anymore, they just create a new one, called the platinum series, check it on the www.pacificdrums.com. The drums pedal, is not as good as the entire drumset, so i used the dw drums pedal. Good quality drums overall! The snare drum rocks!

“I really love the sound of the SW Pacific PDP drum kit. ”

written by aim2please on 18/11/2006

I really love the sound of the SW Pacific PDP drum kit.

This drum kit looks good too. Unfortunately, the screws come loose after about 4 - 5 months.

I would recommend it to anyone, but mostly intermediate and advanced players.
