Marks and Spencer. Handling a very large workforce for the Xmas period you would expect that there would be teething problems but unfortunately the main issue seems to be around pay and missed payments. I've not experienced any issues in that area but there's plenty who have and you hear complaints daily. However beware the ads. They DO NOT give you 1.5 for overtime. The Blue Arrow staff are a bit thin on the ground too and obviously stretched. As a result, general communication is very poor and you tend to stumble across information. Also, there are very few English people on staff and whilst I appreciate their ability and skill to speak a variety of languages, it doesn't inspire confidence. When you want to discuss an important issue, a lot of relevant points are lost in translation. In terms of the workforce? Sadly I now understand why UKIP got their votes. Diversity is a good thing but you do feel the presence (and not in a good way) of nationalities from Eastern Europe who tend to form exclusive groups and in my experience too dominant and aggressive in their approach to people. English speaking UK staff are very thin on the ground. Marks and Spencer's staff also need to be a little more proactive, friendly and motivational too. Temporary staff we may be, but we are also human.
