“save £190, shop in Matalan and get better quality ”

These shoes we absolutely gorgeous, a perfect shade of coral a beautiful design - what the hell went wrong!!! I may as well have been wearing tissue paper. These shoes lasted approxitaly 2 hours before the sole started flaking away from the shoe and leaving holes, scratches and craters - as if I'd been wearing them for 6 months. I should also point out that I was at a wedding with clean flat services not a muddy field (as the sale woman suggested). I went to my local L.K Bennett, explained the situation but got nothing but accusations and, this is the best bit, 'oh that just happens to them' SHOCKING! If you want to waste £200 on disposable shoes go for it, I'm heading to New Look next time

“Poor customer service ”

I ordered a pair of shoes for a wedding from lk bennett usa. After 10 days I called because the shoes hadn't arrived. Oh they were so sorry but they don't deliver to post office bixes. And they don't bother to notify you either. No word on a refund.

“Terrible customer service”

I bought a pair of shoes for my wedding and wore them once on a sunny day. During this time, the leather on the heel split and the soles became warped. After paying £295 for these shoes, I thought it was a little unusual that they would deteriorate in this fashion with little use and in good conditions. I wrote to customer services who basically batted me away saying they had never had a problem with these shoes before and that it must have been me that caused the damage. They could help with a repair but totally at my own cost. The 'fault' on the shoe is clearly not one due to wear but instead a fault of the shoe. I am not left with a very expensive pair of shoes that, at the moment, has cost me £295 per day to wear. So rude, so over priced, avoid at all costs !!

I had the same issue but the shoes were very uncomfortable so I returned it to Walton on Thames shop but the manager who is a lady with short black hair refused to refund me and I will not go to that rubbish shop in the future with horrible customer service and all they try is to sell you something that doesn't suit you with ridiculously high prices. Big NO NO to Walton on Thames LK Bennett Shop, never buy from them.

“Abysmal”

My boyfriend purchased a bag from their Cambridge branch, End of Nov/early to mid Dec 2013 as a Christmas present for me. I got it on Christmas day. I am an ex-employee of LK Bennett, and given the quality of their stock (which at times was bad), the bag cost £475, and the quality appeared spot on. I take good care of all my belongings, but in June I had noticed the bag began to shape funnily and there was a lump in the base. A wire from the top of the bag had fallen down, and was almost beginning to poke through the leather. I took the bag back, complained and they send it off to their 'quality control' department, who affirmed there was a fault and repaired it. I was without the bag for just over a month. Picked it up last Friday, and it has been returned in no-where near the same condition as when it was handed to them. Leather has been scuffed off it, there is what appears to be a black ink mark on there, more black marks and scuffs, which I guess is from the machinery whilst was used to repair the bag. In all, I would expect my bag to look this used had it been a couple of years old, but not after 5 months. Took it back on Monday 21st July, complained..I really stood my ground, and thankfully, the woman who was there, is the woman I originally handed my bag to, so she could see what they had done to it. It is now Thursday and I am still awaiting a new replacement. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!!

“poor quality - bad after sales service”

There is a poor approach to customer service from LK Bennett. The shoes that I recently purchased started to come apart after two wears, the after sales options offered by the supplier ignored my statutory rights. I will never buy another shoe from this firm and I cannot recommend them and I would not rate there products.

What ever you do avoid this shop. I went to a branch for a refund and they sent The cheque to the wrong address and asked the bank to cancel it which was Confirmed it had been then they said they where waiting for the bank To send something in writing to confirm it hasn't been cashed! Now where in 2014 and you would think they had a brain between them... Sadly not LK Bennett are saying the bank is not sending conformation out And I have to wait for that to be confirmed. Then some twit who works in accounts says I live 20 doors away And could have the cheque like I am going to get arrested for 180.00 pounds! Something nots ringing right its clear they probably never even sent it out As how can 26 mean 6 ? Meaning the flat number. Just goes to show any twit can set up a business but you need To have common sense to keep it.... Watch this space in a few years LK Bennett will go out Of business no more cheap shoes....

“Bad quality & uncomfortable shoes & boots”

I bought a stiletto boot and black suede shoes from L K Bennett. They were both stunning on sight. But, walking around streets in them, they are extremely uncomfortable. The leather on the boots peeled off after 2 wears! I am very careful about my things to a point of paranoia, but this is just too much. That being said, they have amazing scarves and good quality dresses. I would never buy any shoes or boots there again though no matter how tempting they look. Extremely bad quality and not their specialty. They should either focus on clothes, or improve the quality of their shoes.

“Price deception”

I shopped at LK Bennett at the Dublin airport - quickly bought two dresses - only to find that they are much less expensive online. Yet they had a "markdown" price on them and I can access VAT refund - still won't break even with the sale price.

“I can not believe all the bad press”

I have shopped regularly at the Chichester LKBennett store, and purchase items in other branches. I have always found the staff very helpful and honest in their advice. Out of all the items I have purchased I have only had a problem with two. A belt which had a problem with the buckle, which despite being purchased a while before was replaced without a quibble, and a bag which, after some considerable heavy wear developed a fault with the handle, this was fixed and returned to me, again without any problem. Lk Bennett is a fine store with quality goods. I can not speak highly enough of the staff. The clothes are wonderful and suite all shapes sand sizes. Ignore all the doubters and get down there!

“staff not interested in the details.”

I wanted to purchase a trench coat (£245)I checked on line but really didn't want to wait for a delivery so called the Edinburgh store. I specifically asked for the light cream in size 14. The assistant said that they had both the light cream and 'trench' colour but there really wasn't much difference between the colour. I again said that I wanted the light cream and asked her to put it aside & my husband would collect. Well when I got it home - it wasn't light cream!! Called them & apparently they didn't have it in stock! Why lie & tell me you do when obviously you were trying to just sell the jacket - it is nothing like light cream! No wonder the high street is dying when you have sales staff trying to fob you off to make a sale. A wasted trip & now I'm unable to order online either. If she had just been honest I could of ordered & had it sent elsewhere rather than no having nothing.

“Lack of engagement from staff”

I went shopping in Exeter today for a couple of dresses for special occasions. I visited several shops, including LK Bennett (at about 12.30) The shop was not busy - maybe 2 or 3 other customers. I had a brief browse then went towards the back of the shop where there were two young assistants, neither of them dealing with other customers. One completely ignored me, the other looked me up and down then turned away without even a 'good afternoon'. I was tempted to leave there and then, and was completely lost for words at the rudeness. However I wanted to see what was on offer so continued to look around. I asked one question about when deliveries are made, which was answered, and left. In my opinion this is a basic manners issue, let alone poor customer service.

“C U AVON Clutch”

BAD BAD BAD QUALITY. fastener is very hard to open, you can easily break your nails trying to do so. I would have never imagined such bad quality from this label. Someone who designed this clutch represent serious lack of design knowledge. The product feels and looks like cheap eastern import.

“Honest review by an ex employee”

Having worked for LK Bennett, although training and guidance lacked proper information and was instead completely sales based, I have a sound understanding of their clothes and shoes. In terms of their shoes, 99% are made with soft leather soles, these will last you for a few months at most and if in contact with water will just fully destroy. The small print advises changing the soles to a rubber sole which would increase the price by a large scale and would have to be done by yourself. The shoe sizes are always different to normal sizes in different stores/brands, they tend to be too small and extremely narrow resulting in painful wear. I, myself, have rather narrow feet at UK size 4 1/2 but fit into a 5 in LK Bennett shoes and feel excruciating pain on the sides of my feet. However, saying this, they do open up considerably after wearing them a couple of times but this in turn makes them far too wide and worn. The clothes LK Bennett have to offer have now changed to using more synthetic materials definitely not justifying the ridiculous prices. Employees are told to say this reduces static and other absurd excuses when asked by customers why this is. Never listen to what the sales assistants have to say, they seriously only care about their commission, 1%, and sales; they wouldn't be kept on if they were genuine towards customers.

“life savers”

Needed a dress for a wedding that was in one weeks time, my only day off to shop and as I'd just had a baby i was feeling low in confidence. I bought an outfit from Harvey nicks that I didn't like but felt pressured into buying! Then great girls in Bennetts came to the rescue and found me a dress I feel great in and I've worn it 3 times since. This was my first time shopping with lk. Bennett and I will be visiting again as soon as I find the excuse to buy another dress! Ps plucked up the courage and took whole outfit back to Harvey's.

“LOST RETURNS - NO REFUND RECEIVED”

Has anybody been caught out like me..? I would like to know what you did or can be done about this. I sent back a parcel with 3 items to LK Bennett by Royal Mail. The returns label stuck to the parcel was pre-paid, I just posted it and then waited for the refund. No refund so called them and apparently because I didn't pay extra on top of the prepaid sticker for a tracked or signed for service I will not get a refund. This is a warning to all BEWARE as a prepaid sticker still requires money spent to make sure the company can't come back and say they never received it. Why hide behind a pretence that your offering a free returns service when you still have to pay extra for it? They should include the price of the signed for service in their label. It now means that I have lost a lot of money on this as the post office only gives you back stamps in compensation and it will not cover the total cost of what has been lost.

I purchased some shoes from LK Bennett on the 17th Augsut, I used DPD courier (their courier) to return them. They received the shoes on the 23rd August and still have failed to return my money. I have sent numerous emails and wrung but no answer by a real person on the phone. I am going to report them to the office of fair trading.

“Ver disappointed with LK Bennett ”

I have bought a Pink Suki shoe not long ago. I was very disappointed when after first time I have worn it, I have noticed that the back of my shoe (where is my heel), close to the sole was all scratched. I can?t wear it anymore as it?s badly scratched. The shoe is very badly designed. When I walk the back of my shoe (where is my heel) touch the ground. I am sending the picture as it?s not normal of LK Bennett shoes, to be like this one. I have many of LK Bennett flat shoes, and this never happened to me before. I am really very disappointed !!!!!

Technically, if the shoe has caused this kind of damage, and your not offered suitable compensation, you can actually sue them. If you have photographic evidence, I suggest taking it to citizens advice or seeking legal help.

The same thing happened to me! I wore for the second time to a wedding. Got home and all the leather around the heel has just totally come off in horrible scabs and is ruined. I'm going to just send into head office and demand a repair or suitable replacement. Very dodgy...

“Buyer Beware!”

I ORDERED a dress from LK Bennett at Bluewater, paid for it, then never heard from them. I was going back to Bluewater three weeks later and popped in to enquire if the dress was available. It was, but wasn't right on me, so asked for a refund. Because I was outside of the 7 day return policy, they 'could only offer a credit note' .. Basically, the manageress called me a liar, and stated that they had called me [they absolutely, definitely had not], and whilst I was waiting to discuss my disatisfaction with her, she was discussing my husband [who had gone through the refund transaction whilst I was tending to our baby] with another customer... I'm truly surprised by their policy, and their lack of professionalism. What a shame: I have spent a lot previously in LK Bennett, and have some nice items from them, but this has put me off completely. I feel sick at the thought of 'having' to spend £200 with them in the next six months. I would not normally write reviews like this, nor would I try to dissuade someone from buying from a certain store; but this is the exception to prove the rule.

“Dodgy patent leather”

Faulty leather in their Sabira and Shilo shoes - the leather puckers and makes it look like there is a hole in the shoe when viewed against the light. At £155 per pair, wouldn't you rather buy somewhere else?

“Dublin Airport T2 appalled me ”

I am a loyal L.K Bennett customer but I recently visited the L.K Bennett Dublin airport terminal 2 store and was not impressed. I was appalled at the way I was treated. I was not approached for over seven minutes which is extremely long when rushing for a flight. When I asked for certain shoes in my size the staff shrugged at me and weren't willing to help . It was as if I was a nuisance to them and they just wanted to talk among themselves. For that reason I didn't purchase the goods which would have been over 400 euro.

I am not surprised to read your comment, I too had a similar experience from the manager (name removed) and assistant manager (name removed) (I found out their names by asking a nearby cosmetics sales person, who incidently said a high number of people complain about their atitude to customers and their own staff!!!) I tried to make a complaint to lkb customer service but suprise, suprise...they did NOTHING!!!!! I will not be shopping with them again after the appalling way I was treated and I would have purchased the shoes and dress they could not be bothered to get from the shopfloor and pass into the fitting room....it makes me wonder why people like this are employed in the first place. Obviously LK Bennett do not care how their customers are treated otherwise they would have good staff!

“poor poor poor service....”

I am writing this in the hope other people will realise the very poor service l k bennett displays. Surprising as i see this as one of the more expensive shops on the high street. I purchased two handbags in the sale, my reason was to see what one my mum wanted for her birthday and then take the other one back for a refund. The bags were identical just different colours, the total cost was £260. i went back in my lunch break three days later only to be told that there was no refunds on sale items, i said i didnt realise and then asked for a credit note. The sales lady said that they couldnt do a credit note and that my only choice was to spend the money equivalent to the cost of the bag for an immediate exchange. I cannot believe that this is right? if anyone who reads this knows the answer please write! So in twenty minutes i had to spend £130 on something i didnt want! if retail shops like l k bennett want to keep there customers i would recommend that they speak to john lewis regarding there policies. L k bennett wil no longer recieve my money and i will send an email to head office regarding this very poor service. Shame on them for not realising what they lose out on when they have such ridiculous policies. Especially nowadays with competition so rife within this industry.
