On a new build property less than 6 months old the french/patio door now completely fails to latch and is now not possible to be locked. Probably due to distortion of frame and faulty installation by contractor. Total rubbish workmanship and supervision during construction and installation

Excellent service. Quality products. Other companies try hard to sell, Scotia let the quality of their goods speak for itself. Been around a long time so doing something right! Would recommend.

Posting for my Elderly Mother - 2 recent positive experiences: She had a front door fitted 7 years ago, but developed a small problem with it. They came out and repaired it under the guarantee with no hassle. Due to this she broooked them to replace a window and back door. This was done well in a clean and tidy fashion on the date arranged. Afterwards my Mum spotted a small flaw with some sealant - again they returned quickly and without any hassle and repaired it to good standard. We felt the prices were competitive and my Mum is very happy with them overall....And she's a hard woman to please! :-)

The service I received from start to finish was 5/5. The quality of the product- windows, doors and roof line to my property was very impressive and has completely changed the way my house looks for the better! The whole process was smooth, the fitters were friendly and clean while doing an efficient job and they spoke very highly of the Director, Mr McKnight, telling my husband and I that he runs a tight ship with customer satisfaction at the top of his priorities and is brilliant to work for. I think that speaks volumes for how a company is run- if the workmen respect their boss then they will work hard and on our property they couldnt have worked any harder! The price was fair- yes it isnt the cheapest quote out there but at the end of the day you get what you pay for- I havent found another property with double glazing products that looks as nice as ours! Thanks Scotia for the brilliant job you completed and thank you to Mr McKnight for running a fantastic company!

We were very happy with the conservatory when built but subsequentlyhad a problem with a leak from the radiator. The plumber came out -eventually - and said there was no problem. We had our separate central heating company out on three occasions. After extensive checks under all our floorboards they fedback the problem had to be with the conservatory radiator. The plumber came out said could see nothing and sent for the joiner. The result was under the flooring was complete mush. We were given the pipe which had a hole through it. Half the floor was lifted and it took 10 days to dry out. We are considerably out of pocket with cost of calling out central heating company, heating the conservatory 24/7 for 10 days and putting up with the smell. We have repeatedly called , written, and asked for contact. There has been absolutely no response. The after sales service/contact has been appalling.

7 double glazing windows installed. Scotia were not the cheapest quote obtained, but salesman was friendly and offered no hard sell. An honest pitch. The windows look great from a distance and really do stand out in my street from the neighbour's. However, once you get up close to them, they were very poorly finished products with absolutely no attention to detail shown during production. most worthy problems of note, 1 window failed to remain closed on the night following installation. 1 pane was supplied scratched. All said, they are (ongoing) trying to put it right and have been experiencing some resistance from me as I try to cope with the idea of my home being 'dishevelled' again. As others have posted, the workmen who have been out are very polite and display competency as they go about their work. They are coming back out for another attempt next week. Still to rip 1 window out completely. Still to replace another separate glazing unit as the current 1 sits at an angle as it is not square. Yup, you read that right - I have an off shape. You do expect a few minor hiccups when undertaking a sizeable piece of home improvement, but my experience has been verging on the frustrating. Guess I'll be next for Mr McKnight's (Financial Director) call. I had heard other bad things about the man prior to looking at this site. Given what's written here would suggest he and I will not see eye to eye. Overall (subject to review after Mr McKnight's expected call) worth the price? - no worth the hassle? - no

Scotia fitted a patio door to replace a window and the work was so good we went back to arrange the build of a conservatory with climate control air-con/heating ! Conservatory was built three years ago and has been in use daily since then - winter or summer ! Only ever had one problem with the air con / heating which was sorted asap - then a wee problem with a tiny leak which again was fixed within a short period of time . The workmen from day one have been excellent - very pleasant , friendly and concientious ! I would without hesitation recommend Scotia !

Can I ask who fixed the climate control system. Got conservatory fitted 4 years ago by Scotia and got climate control system fitted. It's not working and trying to get someone out to fix it is terrible. Scotia told us about company called Subcool but they want £140 just to turn up.

I've twice been a customer of scotia. They fitted my double glazing a couple of years ago, and more recently done my roof. They weren't the cheapest on the market but the quality and professionalism of the fitters was brilliant! I took my time in choosing them, and got quotes from few places but my sister in law recommended scotia as they done a good job on her place. I would definitely use them again. The salesmen were a bit tenacious but I think its to be expected. As a grown woman I know how to say no to salesmen and I definitely didn't feel intimidated. I'd recommend them and have had no problems with the windows or roof so far.

I think this review is obviously fake and has clearly been written as a poor attempt to counteract the bad review below. Beware!!

i think this response to the review is obviously fake as clearly you can't rely on these reviews as these pages seem to be full of rival companies selling their products !

I contacted Scotia recently regarding a Sunroom. Further to the initial telephone call, a salesman duly arrived to discuss and seemed polite and knowledgeable. That, unfortunately didn't last and he became the salesman from hell - 3/4 pushy calls to my house and mobile every day for 2 weeks. He also developed an attitude, refused to respond to my questions in writing and ridiculed my (perfectly reasonable) questions. The final straw came when he called 6 times in one day and threatened to withdraw the quote if decision wasn't made there and then - I told him to shove it (ironically, and despite the salesman, we were going to proceed with the quote). One to avoid!

Our conservatory was finished about 8 weeks ago and all in took around 9 months to complete. A fairly large part of this delay was our local council and we had to often push Scotia and the council along a few times. The most important thing for us was always going to be the end product, and we are delighted with it. Scotia have done a fantastic job. It can be difficult getting someone to answer the phone when you call them, and you sometimes get an attitude, or no call back, but have faith and they will deliver. We use the conservatory all the time, and it's worth the extra for a glass roof. We would certainly use Scotia again. Workmen were often subbies but they were polite, clean and worked extremely hard. When we had issues, they didn't squabble or argue, they just sorted them (albeit not as quickly as we hoped). The niggles won't be remembered, but the conservatory will be enjoyed by many for a long time to come.

Although I found the initial salesman a little pushy when I was getting quotes for my conservatory, I'm glad I went with Scotia in the end. From start to finish, they were professional, courteous and good workmen. They kept me well-informed with regular updates by post; if access was required, the workmen were quick and tidy and I was impressed with just how quick the majority of the work was completed. The builders, joiners, electricians and plumbers were all courteous, tidy and they did a very good job. I'm very happy with what I've ended up with (any ire I may have being directed at local planning regulations rather than Scotia).

We had a terrible experience with another manufacturer when we had our conservatory installed so were exceptionally careful when it came to the selection of a company to supply new windows. We interviewed five companies including Scotia.
I'd have to say that they were not initially our favourite nor were they the cheapest however my husband visited their factory in Kilmarnock and eventually we decided to go with them.
I would have to say that they were really great and the product is gorgeous!
The installation was not without incident however there is no need to elaborate as the issues were dealt with promptly and professionally.
The end product has definitely improved the look, heat retention and sound deadening qualities of our house.
After our last experience, we were really sceptical but I can honestly say that I would have no hesitation in recommending Scotia and I only wish they'd done the conservatory for us to!

NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got full house done, windows and doors and need replaced completely even though they are within guarantee.
Fed up with them coming out, marking everything and firing silicone everywhere.Upstairs is freezing as windows are draughty.Mold everywhere and condensation from top to bottom.Fitted K glass back to front, blinds move with draughts-director told me they were meant to let air in!The windows are not sized right and filled with silicone.I took the facia off bedroom window and could fit my hand in gap.Currently got substance growing inside one windows sealed unit.
Run a mile-Crystal clear quality-not!

Alastair Crabb- Managing Director
Robert McKnight- Financial and Operations Director
These are the two directors of Scotia Double glazing and considering how important they both are, they couldn't have given me more of their time. Nothing was too much trouble for either of them and i now have a beautiful conservatory.
the installation went smoothly and the workmen were polite and a very good laugh. Any queries or worries i had were sorted right away and it was a joy to buy a product from them.

My name is John Pritchard & over the last 8 years or so Scotia Double Glazing have supplied all of our upvc windows ,conservatory & part roofline & I honestly can't praise them enough for their product & in particular their after sales service.
I would like to bring to your attention an experiance recently where we had an issue with a pariicular section of our conservatory namely the cills, this was some 8 years after the original erection, Scotia contacted the product supplier & the outcome was that the conservatory was replaced with the exception of the roof.
In Conclusion
I have myself worked for a large construction company for over 40 years & I can honestly say that I have nothing but praise for the way that Scotia Double Glazing based in Kilmarnock have treated me over the last 8 years or so. They are in my opinion a highly professional company , each time I have contacted their MD or Site Manager "Les", they have always been very curtious & addressed my concerns within an acceptable time frame. I wish to also thank the work carried out by their site maintenance engineer who is also very methodical in the way he carries out his duties.

I cant beleive this review is true and honest, having just fitted SCotia windows and a conservatory,i have found them to be nothing less than the absoloute height of proffesionalism.Yes i had two faults 1. a cracked glass unit(which was replaced within two days)2.a replacement handle was required(also replaced within two days).Being a reasonably minded person i accept that one or two hitches may arise, this was the case but the company have prooven to be honest and true to their word, this is why myself and the people who reccomended me to Scotia will happily show great faith in this company .Good luck and take care.

Like the previous writer I too have nothing but praise for Scotia in any dealings I have had with them and honestly wonder at the veracity of the other reviews.

I have had guttering and several windows fitted by Scotia. The workmanship and product have been good in all cases and their customer service has always been good.

The salesman was truely excellent, not pushy and very communicative. The office staff dealing with the installation were also very helpful indeed, though hard to get hold of at times. the installation was many months late and was a complete nightmare. Cracked windows, wrong window furniture, destruction in my garden, minor damage to my home internally. It took over a month to get the job finished correctly. Workmen were consistenly late or disappeared before I had arranged to come home to meet them and check the job. I still have to rectify the "accidents" that happened during the job! Windows look good though not very warm.

workmanship and quality of product very, very poor, had to re-call them four times to fix problems on patio door and even now the faults are just as bad, have now given up with them, staff are rude and unhelpful, had planned further work for scotia but after this installation no way!do yourself a favour and get anyone apart from Scotia, they are a nightmare to deal with and the product is sub standard compared to others on the market

Couldn't agree more with Scotia review.. Would say that the workmanship of the team at our installation were first class. Pity same could not be said about the project management or communication. Installation ran by agreed date of completion no direct communication to keep us 'the customer' informed at all times Quote" We're with you every step of the way' - don't think so. On eventual completion we had a scratched window pane and although not a disaster. We held back final payment £8500 to be exact, this hasn't pleased Scotia one bit (good). They have replaced original panel with another scratched panel and we still held back the monies owed, perfectly fair I thought Quote"Don't pay until your completely satisfied. I have since received a telephone call from 'The finance director' demanding payment, in a rather non-customer orientated fashion, implying that because I have use of the conservatory I should be paying for it. Word of advice don't pay until you are completely satisfied, get an agreed completion date and if they pass it, they will be in breach of contract have in contract you will be compensated for this breach. My dissapointment is the fact that their advertising does not reflect the reality, from a communication and customer orientated piece. Hope this helps

Everything sounds familiar, we are now some 18mths on from signing contract, after many threatening and bullying e-mail communications from said Financial Director (same guy as yourself) we have finally in October had all original snagging completed, which in his word was minor work, so minor it took 3 days/4 men to complete! Although the recommendations made by their structural engineer were not completed due to in his words to a 'threat of compenssation' hanging over them.
<br/>Yes, we are claiming compensation, for massive over run of contract, breach of contract, breach of our dataprotection rights by passing our information onto a third party without consent, for their workmen gaining illegal access to our property despite both verbal and written communication advising access not available. Uncompleted works as recommended, despite having had a schedule for completion of them on at lease two occasions. For stress and distruption caused to our life, especially thro at least two of our holidays, when on one of them we were informed that 'we had no moral high ground' to ask for copy of the structural report...sorry they provided us with the incomplete, leaking, green mould conservatory with an unfinished fire wall, mortice filled areas for bricks, think indeed we do have a moral high ground. (this is the shortened list it is indeed very lengthy and indeed they too do not seem to follow any of the Glass and Glazing Federation policies and procedures. Said Financial Director threatened us with the GGF and actually once I contacted the GGF myself, he rapidly dropped that one, given that they had already failed to fulfill many of the values set by the GGF for their members.

It sounds like you are liable for the problem to the radiator- why call the company that fitted your conservatory?
