Not really a theme park, more like a static carnival, with a bit of park land.
Toilets not too clean and rides not really good enough for my discerning group of 9/10 year olds. Should visit B&Q for a bit of paint. Expensive for what what on offer. Diving show good, although compere was loud and annoying. Probably would offer a good day out for younger children. Personally I won't be back.

i've been to loudon castle lot's of times and it never gets old, its absolutely fantastic! theres a wide range of things to do for small kids, teenagers, and adults.as well as rides the shows are brilliant as well. i loved the thrill rides like the barnstormer and the black pearl and twist and shout. the only thing i would change is the prices in the gift shops. the only thing i would have liked to know before i made my purchase would be what rides were suited for different ages.

I took my 11yr old son to this place today and what a waste of my time and money. Even after the fact we got 2 x £10 off vouchers - it was still a waste of money.
There is only 4 rides that are suited for older visitors the rest are for the really young kids. The rides all look like they are falling to bits and one of the roller coasters is completely rusty and looks so unsafe with tape all over it.
The diving show was good though but the female compere just ruined it for us with her constant "Is there actually anybody here as I cant hear any applause or cheering" We were all sick of her whinging that no one was cheering - we were not cheering because you were CONSTANTLY SQUAKING OVER THAT MIKE AND RUINING IT FOR US.
We arrived at 11 and left at 130.
Perfect if u have young kids - rubbish if you have children around 10/11/12 upwards - wasting your money

Dear all, My family and I visited Louden Castle for the first time and were very disappointed, in my view there is not enough rides to class this park as Scotland theme park it is a glorified fun fare. With regards to the animals you be better off visiting your local pet shop or farm. The only good part of the day was the high diving show, although this was spoilt by the compare who is an embarrassment to Scotland and her patter was rubbish. All in all it is a very poor example of a theme park and not worth the money. Its another day that I will never get back, the only other good thing about the day was I spent it with my family.

Really disappointed with this visit to Loudon Theme Park -seeing little progress at all following past visits.
1. No toilets in the car park
2. Food in the restaurant is awful, in the past it had been good and was a welcome change from the snack bars selling hot dogs etc if you wanted something decent. Everything seems to be served with "chips and peas" - so we ordered something and the girl said, "no peas sorry" - we ordered something else and the reply was "no sweetcorn" sorry. She wasnt sorry, she really didnt care at all.
3. The rides are looking tired, needing a coat of paint or updating. There's ride assistants with no queues looking bored out of their brains whist weeds grow happily amongst some of them (see first car ride in on your right as you enter the park!)
4. Go-karts closed initially due to a sign saying wet weather, yet the track was dry!
5. The diving show was good!
6. Most of the attendants look so bored with a few notable exceptions especially the chap at the entrance picking litter who was cheery.
7. 2 adults and 2 children aged 3 and 5 and a price of almost £50 quid for substandard rides
8. The animal park was good and the staff looking after the animals looked as though they cared.
9. The annoying safety voice on the water slide is not repeated every 5 seconds or so, but without interval and is also annoying.
10. Carry on like this Mr Owner, and your theme park is heading down the slide itself - shall not be going back!

My parents joined me, my wife and our two young children in visiting Loudoun Castle on Saturday. We very very disappointed at the standard of the park, in particular the Rory the Lion show. The 2pm show was not worthy of the description "children's entertainment". Rory appeared for approx. 10 minutes, pretending to urinate against the house and then told 2 jokes and disappeared again. It was totally unrehearsed and amateurish to say the least, nevermind completely inappropriate.
The quality of the rides and facilties were extremely poor, with the only baby changing facilities within the ladies' toilets.
The rollercoaster, advertised to be open in May was a pile of track and the caterpillar ride broke down.
For an entry cost of £51 for the 6 of us (my children are 3 and 10 months) it was supposed to be a treat for the family - we were extremely disappointed and will not be back. It seems that we still have a long way to go to match the standard of family days out experienced in the USA, Canada and Europe.

It was great fun and worth the money. The scary , fast rides. Especially the orange roller-coaster that goes upside down. Sometimes you don't get to sit with your friends. The people force you to sit somewhere you don't want to sit.

Good points, what good points! Bad points, There was plenty; first of all the rides are old, there's nothing for the older generation, park was full of under 12's, felt uncomfortable as there was nobody over the age of 12. I think this was caused by the lack of exciting rides. On Louden Castle webpage, it was made to look better than what it was

It was close to home, Loudon Castle Theme Park. Also the setting was quite nice with the castle and all. Not enough rides, a lot of them seemed quite old. Nothing for young children. Inconsistent with height restrictions

Loudon Castle theme park has to be the best value for money I have ever seen. From the glorious food in the cafe (at very reasonable prices) to the way the staff went out of their way to put the youngsters at ease. It was a day I will remember for ever. The place was very clean with little or no litter to be seen anywhere. The staff in the small farm zoo were just fantastic when showing the kids a tame ferret, who they all got to stroke and make a fuss of. The staff had all the time in the world for the children when helping them into or out of the various rides. I will be back as often as I can before it shuts in September!
The only downside I can think of is the fact that the park shuts at 6pm.
Do yourself a favour and go. You will not be disappointed. This review may seem like an advertisement for the park, but I can honestly say it was that good.

I found this review unhelpful because...
<br/>it tells me nothing about the actual park or what the rides are like or anything
