Recently Purchased A 2010 Trek 7500 From My Lbs, A
Recently purchased a 2010 Trek 7500 from my LBS, and I couldn't be more pleased with it so far... It's comfortable, and I like the slightly more upright position of the 7500 over the FX... I test rode some of Trek's lower end hybrid/city/comfort models, and the 7500 blew them away... The shifts are smooth, and while not close to a pure road bike, this model flies when you get into it... Hills are no problem at all... The bike with the stock tires is set up for the road, but you could easily slap some nobbies on it and I think it would perform well on your local trail... This bike will be my road bike for I have an older hybrid with nobbies... The rim brakes are much better than expected... I'm 6'3" and 225 lbs, riding on a 22.5" frame, and these brakes stop me on a dime...
If you're looking for a comfortable, quality hybrid with very good components, that is an absolute joy to ride, you cannot do much better than the Trek 7500...

I Bought The 2009 Trek 7500 Last Week After My Wif
I bought the 2009 Trek 7500 last week after my wife and I discovering "Rail Trails" in a few States during the summer. The bike rack stayed on the car (with bikes) everywhere we ventured. We enjoyed riding the trails so much we decided to upgrade. I began exploring the internet and reading other peoples reviews. Trek seem stick in my mind. I decided to go all out and purchase the Trek 7.9 fx( $2500.00) until the salesman ask what kind of riding we did. It turns out the 7.9 would have been overkill because we're not in a hurry nor do we just ride on black top or hard surface roads. I've never had a bike fitted to my body May be thats the difference. Even the seat which always leaves me in pain feels like I'll keep it. I rode 15 miles (round trip) on the trail yesterday to break it and myself in and the bike reminded me of a Caddy I once bought after driving a Chevy for a few years. Smooth. Mind you I know very little 'bout bikes- only how they feel and how to change a tire. By the way my wife bought a Trek 7300 step through and we join the 'Rails to Trails Conservancy" Happy Trails.
