I loved Silent Hill because it was so suspenseful. it wasn't just about blood, gore and all that stuff. i like the fact that there was a history behind it like when her adopted daughter had been conceived by a girl who was considered a witch and evil. that was awesome. plus i loved it every time the alarm or whatever that noise was went off. it was so creepy.

Silent hill: The Movie.
Being a huge fan of the games, I was extremly eager to see the Silent Hill movie, leaving the cinema, though, I could not help but feel a little dissapointed.
I've played all the games, and hoping that I would see all in the movie that i had seen in the games, I was slightly let down.
Although the storyline between the Silent Hill movie and the first game are similar, and follow the same plot, there are too many changes to it.
Firstly, the pyramid head does not appear in the first game, secondly, in the game, the main protanginist, Harry, does not save his daughter at the end, instead, he finds a baby and adopts her.
I enjoyed the CGI in the film, the acting was superb, everybody played their roles with great morale. The movie was impressively well done, but the only reason I am now giving it 3 out of five stars is due to the fact that it does not follow the games story fully, which in terms will make the next installment in the Silent Hill series harder to create. Silent hill 3 would have to be a complelty different story in the movie than the game, because Silent Hill 3 is basically a proper story sequel to Silent Hill 1. Unlike Silent Hill 2, which only has a few links to the first installment.
Pity it did not follow the games, the plot and storyline would of been fanastic to see on the big screen and in the comfort of my own home.
3 out of 5 stars.

I watched Silent Hill last night and after seeing the game played, had quite high expectations.
When I had watched the game being played, I found it very creepy and was more frightened by what you didn't see, rather than what you did see.
The film was done from a different persective though, and it seems that the producers thought that by showing mutated creatures you would be more frightened and gripped, I think they underestimated the power of the human imagination as personally I imagined far worse creatures in the game, than I saw in the movie.
As the movie went on, I found that it was simply all over the place and began to get bored, so bored that I eventually fell asleep and missed the end - not the greatest advert for a horror movie I must say.

It's a horror film about a woman and her daughter who find Silent Hill it's a freaky place with this siren thing that presents to them 'the darkness!' Where absolutely anything can happen! Some of the violence in it resembles that of ye olden day executions! Has a great background this film!

I had no expectations of this film when i went to see it at the cinema, as when I saw it I wasn't aware it was an adaptation of game. Silent hill the movie though I thoroughly enjoyed and was genuinely quite scared by.
It's based upon a couple whose only child has reoccurring episodes of sleep walking and whilst doing so speaks of a place named "silent hill", with no recollection of doing so when she's awake. As a last resort the mother (Rose) takes her too silent hill to find answers and maybe try to stir something in her conscious that's at the route of this problem. Cue crashing the car, a desolated town and your daughter going missing in a town which was destroyed by under ground fires some years earlier!
Rose is therefore forced to explore this eerie town in order to find her daughter again, and you join her for the trials and tribulations she faces on the way.
This movie is authentically scary but also quite gory at the same time, always a hard balance to strike without being to ridiculous and not believable. I think this film does it well and as Rose ventures further into the town you learn more and more of what happened to it and the people who lived there.
Defiantly an intriguing film as I found myself wanting to find out what had happened to the people there and for Rose to be reunited with her daughter. Found the ending quite anonymous and lacking in clarity but possibly to give way to a second film?
Id say its was a must see on the Horror film list!

Silent Hill, just totally naff. The leading lady was AWFUL, it didn't have a single scary moment and some of the tense bits were so ridiculous I was crying with laughter instead of paralyzed with fear. The climax was so badly made and just had no effect on the audience at all.
Total waste of money and possibly one of the worst films I've ever seen. only good point was the ending and they even managed to mess that up!

Silent Hill - I was pleasantly suprised as the movie is genuinely scary. Good enough for me to go and see a second time. The movie had a variety of characters mostly from the original games, but some I didn't recognise. The acting is believable for the most part but the lead was dissapointing. The movie IS scary and I would recommend it to all horror fans and all fans of the games.
