After Purchaising The Original Dvd1000 It Gave Up
After purchaising the original DVD1000 it gave up for dead, Philips replaced in with the next top of the range model the 980 which lasted a few months longer but also had catastrophic failures which Philips couldn't put right.
Now my 3rd Philips DVD recorder, the £900 DVDR1000 mk2 has finally packed up just short of 2 years old.
Like most Philips recorders it's the same old story of great picture quality but awful reliability.
Philips know they are to blame for these short comings, they even collect, try to fix and return the faulty units long after their warranty time is up.
Even After A Trip Back To Philips For Repair, The
Even after a trip back to Philips for repair, the Philips DVDR1000 mk2 continued to display a varied selection of faults, from refusing to recognise previously recorded discs to scene skipping or total inability to play pre-recorded discs.
Save your money and give the technology a few more years to develop.
