The Cross Keys Is Apparently An Ancient Pub At The
The Cross Keys is apparently an ancient pub at the heart of Swansea, though naturally totally modernised. I use it for quick lunch snacks when in the city working. It's not going to blow you away but it's actuall ok, depends how much you want to spend and what you expect.
The menu is huge considering it's a pub, from sarnies to curries (big choice of sauces suggesting meat just warmed through in it), chinese and grill opions with most coming into a £3 - £8 bracket.
It's clientel in the week are mostly office workes or older couples and they do a tw0-4-one offer but I'm invariably dining alone.
First cock up I've had was today. Just fancied a snack of muchrooms in a pepper sauce with garlic bread. Chef hid the BURNT bread at the base of the dish, smothered in a rediculous amount of sliced cheap button mushrooms in a gloopy sauce.
I'll stick to the curries or sweet n sour in future a they're not bad.
Fine for a quick snack but not a destination restaurant. La Brasseria is aaround the corner in Wind Street and a plethora of predictable chains. Takes your choice n pays your money.
