Good Points
Exhilarating, great fun, adventurous.

Bad Points
Beginners need to familiarise themselves with the quads, at some centres there may not be enough bikes for large groups.

General Comments

Quad Biking is a very popular activity for Stag weekends in Edinburgh. Thrills, speed, rough terrain and much more, that's what quad bikes are all about.

Quads were originally designed for farmers and shepherds with one thing in mind, tackling extreme terrain and conquering it. Edinburgh has many quad biking venues because of the quad's growing popularity.

There are many versatile venues in Edinburgh that provide ideal locations for this motorized activity, which are ideal for stag groups. A quad trek can vary from gentle to moderate and on to extreme quad bike trekking, depending on the standard of the group.

A quad bike trek will typically be through ditches, over steep inclines and fields and through wooded areas. Obstacles on the course are a test of endurance. Whether the obstacle you face is water, mud or an almost vertical slope these powerful off-road all terrain vehicles are capable of negotiating all types of terrain. Watch the mud fly. Cross rivers, drive through woods, and climb the most demanding hills imaginable.

Safety briefing and protective clothing are provided at all the venues. The riders get to familiarize themselves with their quads. The bikes are ideal for both beginners and those with some experience.

The important thing to check when going quad trekking is how much driving time each member of your party gets, as this differs from centre to centre. Most locations do not have enough quad bikes for larger sized groups so that everyone can participate at the same time. Biking can be part of a larger itinerary, which includes other activities like paintballing or clay pigeon shooting and can be followed up by a whiskey tasting session before a visit to a comedy club.
