dennisis's review of Poros, Hotel Saga

“A good hotel for Greece without breaking the bank and...”

Good Points
A home from home atmosphere with super friendly owners and staff, Hotel Saga is suitable for all age groups. A totally relaxing island without any crime. Spotlessly clean hotel with about twenty rooms, so just a nice size, has great pool and beaches, cafes and tavernas nearby also. In a quiet location but within walking distance of Poros town itself, where there is more of a buzz. The roof terrace has a terrific area to relax, with a spectacular view over the harbour and mainland mountains. Great value for money and the owners can arrange travel from Athens airport.

Bad Points
Bathrooms are a little tired but were meant to be totally refurbished at the beginning of 2007, due to the non-arrival of a grant in time, well this is Greece after all! Zefi says that work begins near the end of 2007 and she is certain of this as her husband Takis owns the local building firm and furniture shop!

General Comments
A good hotel for Greece without breaking the bank and in an excellent location for visiting Hydra, Spetses and Aegina islands as well as Epidavrous, Mycenae and Napflio on the mainland. The best time to visit is in Spring and Autumn, even up to November.
