General Comments
Harbour Heights Guesthouse overlooks the harbour in Portrush - if you get a room at the front of the house, the views over the sea are stunning. It is immaculately clean and the owner is very friendly and welcoming.

We had a double room for 2 nights - bed and breakfast and the total cost was £130 - very reasonable. The rooms are comfortable and have lots of homely touches - iron and ironing board, hairdryer, DVD player, selection of books as well as tea and coffee making facilities.

The en-suite shower room was small but had a powerful shower and a nice selection of toiletries and fluffy white towels.

A full Irish breakfast (delicious) was served each morning with a selection of cereals and fruit.

The guest house is only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of the town - there are a few shops, a couple of nice restaurants and miles of beautiful, golden sandy beaches.

We had a meal at D'Arcys restaurant on the main street which was very good. We also ate at the Harbour Bar Bistro - highly recommended - outstanding food and very reasonably priced. The only negative is that they do not take reservations so sometimes you may have a long wait before you get a table. We were advised to arrive at 6.00pm - we waited 1.5 hours but when we left at 8.30 /9.00pm there was no waiting and customers were being shown straight to their tables.

There are lots of pleasant day trips out of Portrush - we enjoyed the Giants Causeway and also spent a pleasant morning in Ballycastle.

All in all a really enjoyable break.
