kenny001's review of Tour Khalef

“We had an excellent stay at Tour Khalef. The week...”

Good Points
The service of the staff was excellent. There was a good selection of food. We were full board and found this hotel excellent value for money. There's not many buffet service full board hotels that will serve up swordfish and rabbit as well as a more simple selection of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. They try to cater for all tastes and, considering the hotel also has residents from Italy, France and Germany, cater for all tastes well.

The hotel was also cleaned well on a daily basis, and although there was building work on one side of the Reception area, this was not at all disruptive.

The newly refurbished pool was clean and there were plenty of sunbeds. The poolside waiters also brought sunbed pads, making poolside bathing very comfortable.

Most rooms have a lovely sea view over hotel palm tree lined grounds.

Bad Points
Entertainment could be better.

General Comments
We had an excellent stay at Tour Khalef. The week went too quickly. The hotel was clean and the staff were fiendly. The pool was lovely and the residents can use the inside pool at the sister hotel next door. It was located right next to the beach which can be reached through the hotel grounds - which are full of palm trees and beautiful gardens.

The Thomson excursions were very good value for money and we strongly recommend the Sahara excursion. Look out for Smiley Miley who will try and sell you excursions in the hotel. We had a great time quad biking with his excursion - it's the same price as the Thomson one. Although if you are looking for a reputable quad biking company it may be better to take the Thomson trip as our bikes were a little on the rough side!

Travelling around the resort was very easy. Taxis, Tuk Tuks and The Noddy Train are easy to find. You can even travel on a horse and carriage for as little as 15 dinar (less than £7.50).

We had a brilliant holiday and would recommend it to those who would like a different experience, instead of a boozing holiday!
