Good Points
Rock solid stability, 6 channel onboard sound, passive heatsink, CPU overheating protection, UDMA133.
Bad Points
Only 2 of the 3 DIMM slots work with PC2700 memory and must use approved manufacturer, no S/PDIF interface card supplied
General Comments
Although this Asus A7V333 motherboard took a week to get working due to baffling hardware conflicts, since upgrading to the latest BIOS it has performed exceptionally well. The jumper-free BIOS settings allow easy customisation for squeezing the last bit of performance from your components. The Asus CPU overheating protection is a boon. Having four holes for CPU heatsink mounting is essental for people wanting to use performance heatsinks like the Swiftech MCX462. The digital audio is great (once you source their S/PDIF interface card). The only major gripe with this board is its limited memory compatability. Asus insist you only use DDR modules that are on their approved list. It has seen its heydey with the new KT400 mobos at realistic prices, but is still a viable alternative for those wanting to spend less.
