Live Aid was a seminal moment both in musical and cultural history as it was the day that music really did manage to change the world. The Live Aid DVD comprises 4 discs with a collection of 2 or 3 tracks from some of the most famous performers from that legendary day including Status Quo, U2, Queen, Phil Collins, Madonna, Eric Clapton, Duran Duran, David Bowie, the Boomtown Rats and more. It also includes documentaries about the famine in Ethiopia and the videos for Band Aid and USA for Africa.
It is a mighty collection and a mighty memento of an important day. Even though many of the acts are now considered boring old rock dinosaurs, the energy in their performances that day is evident and all the money goes to charity. So it's well-worth purchasing to see the historic event unfolding again and to do a little good in the world.
