The Sony D-NE511 is a very cheap mp3/cd player, which is very compact and has a long battery life. The buttons are easy to press and are very useable, and the design is good. I have used the jog dial for a while now and it gives easy access to most songs. The sound quality is good.
I have used the player for a while now and the jog dial is becoming more temperemental, sometimes it switches to the view just by moving the player around. The lcd screen is far too small, and unless you encode the mp3 file with the song name first you will find that tracks are hard to seek, if by the same band. After inserting a new MP3 CD the player scans for tracks, and sometimes this can take a while depending on how many tracks are on the data CD. The software provided with the player is very buggy and I would recommend anyone not to use it, and just burn their files as standard folders with Nero. The power adaptor does not give an option to recharge the battery so one must use four batteries and keep 2 charged up for optimum usage.
