“I chose this JVC HM-VDR10 dvd recorder for its looks...”

Good Points
Plays all types of disc dvd-r, dvd+r, mp3s, etc

Bad Points
Not multi region and takes ages to "wake up" no good if your in a hurry to record something

General Comments
I chose this JVC HM-VDR10 dvd recorder for its looks as well as its functions. Most recorders are very blocky looking, but this is almost as slim as JVCs normal players. I am very happy with the quality of its recordings and it has extended recording, which means you can fit 6 hours of programmes onto a 3 hour disc. My only slight criticism is it takes "ages" about 10 seconds to "wake up" which is a bit of a pain if you want to record in a hurry, but i dont know if thats something common to all dvd recorders.

YES, slow to turn on..is something common to all DVD recorders.

The TOSHIBA DR-1/2 turns on ten minutes early during timer recordings. Because of that.
