“Have had one of the original versions for 30 years....”

Written on: 04/04/2008 by Jim Coombe (13 reviews written)

Good Points
This is one of the really great slinghots around-especially for target. Good grip, very stable, accurate design, comfortable wrist brace-high quality bands and accurate pouch.

Bad Points
A bit bulky-not easy to carry in your pocket. The wrist brace is not the most durable material and can tear.

General Comments
Have had one of the original versions for 30 years. These were the slingshots that dominated the VEGAS tournament scene in the 70's: Lous Shine and Norm E used a saunders falcon 2 to win that tournament-others used the upgraded version with stabilizers. (Falcon 300) The only complaint I have is that the wrist brace sometimes tears from hard use and since this is basically a target sling-hard use is to be expected. I repaired it using nylon webbing and 35 years later I still shoot it.

The saunders plastic pouch is very accurate though slightly slower to load than the soft leather on say the trumark. I like the saunders attachment better-its easier on the bands than the one where a hole is burned into the rubber and the band is threaded through. It is safer and more accurate too.

There is a good reason that this slingshot has been around 35 or so years
