I have waited ages for my contract to be up so that I could upgrade from the Nokia 8310. It was a good phone but was fed up with Nokia, everyone's got one! So for months have been checking out the reviews for the Siemens S55 and thought when my contract was up I would get that. Called cellular operations and they offered me the Sharp GX10 for a bargain price on. The Siemens S55 was not available and I had gone off the Nokia 7210 cos of the large camera attachment and it's ugly!! Hadn't read anything about the GX10 but knew it was the David Beckham phone and that was all. Got it on Friday and have been playing with it all weekend. It's gorgeous!! It feels lovely in your hand and the games are great. I am not a great games player but this phone encourages me to play them cos they look so good. Camera is easy to use. Texting is also very easy but I miss not being able to save 150 text on the phone which the 8310 could do. The GX10 hasn't got a dictionary to remember words I use quite often e.g. names, places etc. Calls are of course very easy to make (remember it is a phone!). I have taken pictures of my family and put their faces in my phone list so when they ring me it not only tells me who is calling but I can see their face as well!! Downside which is quite big is I miss the alarm reminders for things like TV programmes, birthdays, buying tea! Still will just have to use my Clie more often! It does have an alarm (which doesn't work with the phone off) but you can't put text on so you can't remember why you set the alarm. The calendar looks lovely but you can't set a reminder on the dates so you would have to check it every day for anything you might have put in it. Also haven't been able to send an MMS. Not sure if it's because GPRS is not working but will be calling those guys at Vodafone to help me out. Will be glad when Vodafone allow cross network MMS. But, apart from those few gripes, love it to bits. Overall this is a gr8 fone and I recommend it 2 all!
