“All in all, the Philips Expanium is a pretty decent...”

Written on: 07/06/2002 by (1 review written)

Good Points
Plays MP3 and CD; reasonably good sound quality; directory structure & long filenames supported.

Bad Points
No text display; battery hog; skips something horrible if you so much as look at it sideways; occasionally (frequently enough to be a PITA) audio CDs will play back strange, often double speed.

General Comments
All in all, the Philips Expanium is a pretty decent portable MP3 player but it has it's shortcomings. I would say unless you find it cheap, like I did, give this one a miss for now; wait for the next revision.
