Matilda Review

The book Matilda is about a smart little girl. When she was three she had already known how to read. Her father Mr.Wormwood was a mean crook who sold old and crummy second hand cars for high prices and also her mum Mrs Wormwood spends every afternoon playing bingo and her brother Michael goes to school leaving Matilda at home by herself. When learning how to read at the age of three she teaches herself to read by looking at her parents magazines. since there are no books throughout the house Matilda goes to the local library and gathers books to read.

The Characters of this book are the two parents who are all so selfish and her brother Michael who is always nasty and not treating her like a nice sister.

As Matilda had loved reading so much she had decided to ask if she was allowed to go to school. At first her father had not agreed but than a few days later it was Matilda's first day at school at the age of five but finds out the only bad thing about this school is the headmistress the Trunchbull she is like a wicked witch to the children. When Matilda had seen the headmistress she had ran off into hiding and bumps in to another kid named lavender.Lavender and Matilda had also met a tall girl about twice their size.she had been telling them about whats the Trunchbull would do to naughty kids she had been telling them about the chokey and how she had been in there before.

When the bell had rang they had all ran to their classes and Matilda had a kind and bright teacher and her name is Miss Honey.

When Miss Honey discovered Matilda's smartness she was amazed that all the stuff she had done for school is just nothing if she knew so Miss Honey had given her year six text books and she was absoulutely brilliant at them.

Matilda and Miss Honey had been spending alot of tome together so Miss Honey had told her that the Trunchbull was her Aunty. Miss Honey had been renting out a small cotage since she had taken over her dads house.

When Matilda and Miss Honey knew that Matilda had powers she had made plans for the next time the Trunchbull taught their class.

She had written a message on the blckboared telling her to give Miss Honey back her house and money.

When Matilda and her family were moving she had told Miss Honey to adopt her since she had adoption sheets in her bag as her parents had signed she was now Miss Honey's child.

after all everything worked out pefectly and she had the childhood she had been looking for.

Matilda is a really interesting but fun book to read for both children and adults but the only thing I didn't like about it is just that her parents are mean and always abused her but also I give it a rating of 8 out of 10.
