At Last I Have Found A Device That Does Both Navig
At last I have found a device that does both navigation AND speed camera alerts !!!
There are lots of them I hear you say, oh yes but non of the others do both properly and have the option of the dedicated camera alerts with proper warnings like the PogoDrive does !!!
The snooper saphire came close but you have to display the navigation map even when you don't want it also I have found the Saphire does NOT detect all of the speed cameras in my area even though they have been in place for several years so I have lost confidence in the Snooper Saphire.
I really like the way this works especially in speed camera mode with a huge digital speedo there is no need to look down any more to check your speed !!
Also the name of the road that you are on displayed at the bottom of the screen is a nice touch.
The speaker is much much better than the snooper saphire too a lot louder and clearer.
Now I have this I will be selling the snooper saphire even though I paid for a one year subscription just a couple of months ago.
Yes I am very impressed with the PogoDrive and I have tried most others including Tomtom go, Becker, Copilot, Mio, Ndrive....... I could go on.
I will be using the PogoDrive for the foreseable future.
WELL DONE ORIGIN !!!

Upgraded To Pogo Drive From The B2 Origin. As I Ex
Upgraded to Pogo drive from the B2 Origin. As I expected the Speed Camera alerts are 2nd to none. This is the best unit by far for alerting you to fixed camera locations and now common mobile sirtes have been included. Cameras which are only located on your side of the road generate an alert to cut down on false alerts.
GPS lock is much better than the B2. The unit locks on very quickly (usually within 5-10 secs) and evens locks on when inside buildings on some occasions.
The Sat Nav side of the Pogo Drive is adequate. It's a basic unit and provides most of the functionality that you would expect. It's very easy to use, has a clear display and loud verbal directions.
My previous Navman Sat Nav had more features but to be honest most were hardly every used. The only reason for not giving this product a 10 is the basic sat nav side but as stated for 99.9% of journeys it does everything that you would wish.

Pogo Drive Satellite Navigation Has Excellent Maps
Pogo Drive satellite navigation has excellent maps, tomtom misses some roads, this does not. Easy to use, looks good, plug and play. Only down if there is one is the price, but I bought mine second hand so no complaints.

Pogo Alert Seems To Have Reasonably Good Speed Cam
Pogo Alert Seems to have reasonably good speed camera coverage. I hope that these people stay in business so that I can get updates from the camera database. It is almost impossible to run Update program without crashing. It either "can't open COM3" then crashes, or it just crashes. Pogo support were completely, utterly, explicitly unhelpful. Couldn't imagine worse technical support.

Overall The Unit Is Attractive To Look At But On U
Overall the unit is attractive to look at but on using it the week points become clear. The speaker is far to low to be heard with the slightest volume from the radio. The day screen cannot be switched to night and is far to bright for night use. There is no choice of voice, option by default is female, not that this is a problem but an option would have been nice. The unit has a very flimsy bracket to which the window suction thing attaches and looks it will not stand the test of time. I expected a lot more for my £249.99 as my other unit is a Tomtom base model which cost £99.00 and looks and functions far better in all aspects. Overall very disappointed...
I found this review not helpful because...obviously this person did NOT read the instruction booklet the speaker is very very loud certainly louder than any other sat nav/speed camera detector that I have owned and I have had most on the market !!!
Can Not Always Get A Signal Even In Very Wide Open
Can not always get a signal even in very wide open spacers. I have traveled for 28 mins without a signal in Liverpool on a clear sunny day! Sent it back and it came back the same. very poor. The worst thing I have ever had and I am never off eBay. Poor service and a sad product. Be warned.

Very Pleased With My Pogo Drive Sat Nav, It Has Id
Very pleased with my Pogo Drive sat nav, it has identified EVERY camera, with no false alerts (cameras on elevated stretches of road when driving on the road underneath and the unit stays silent!) It also shows you that it is aware there is a camera on the opposite side of the road on its screen but does not alert you to it, great idea. Altered only once to a laser and there WAS a van on the over bridge. I have confidence in this product.

There Are So Many Features On The Pogo Drive It Be
There are so many features on the Pogo Drive it becomes too much for the screen to cope with, because of this it's almost impossible to make the choice you wanted from the overly complicated touch screen menu.
Despite being to over the phone they had made over 1000 updates in the last 12 months my £99 Garmin is superior in mapping and speed camera alerts.

I Wanted A Device To Advise Me Of Upcoming Speed C
I wanted a device to advise me of upcoming speed cameras. Now I know nothing about GPS systems and this is my first. I found out about Pogo on the internet, and after reading about how good they are regarding speed camera alerts, I purchased a Pogo Drive. I have only had the unit a few days however, I am very happy with it. The feature I love about this unit is its 'Safety Warning Only' mode... This means you don't have to have a destination programmed in etc... It simply alerts you to speed cameras and other warnings. Like everyone, my mind wonders whilst driving, and sometimes I don't remember going through a camera. A feature I like about the Pogo Drive is when you approach a camera, it emits 2 loud (and it is very loud... can be heard over loud music) beeps. If you are going over the limit, it will then flash red and beep, with the beeps getting more frequent as you get nearer to the camera (like a sonar). The 'Safety Warning' mode (which is also active when navigating, just in pop-up mode, is very good and accurate. Its a shame that for the money you spend on the unit you don't get free subscriptions for life, or even at a more 'resonable' rate like '£29.99 (as most others are). Still, you are paying for very accurate info which could save you a speeding ticket. However, the Pogo Drive cannot detect radar or laser... Just fixed cameras which are in the database. Apparently, mobile camera hotspots are going to be added to the database very soon.
For me, the navigation section is more of a bonus as I still prefer to plan a route with a map. This section is still good. Easy to use and easy to plan a journey. I have only used it once at the moment. I found it a little tricky to set the home point. But it is set now. Also, it appears you can only add a favourite position when you are actually physically there. You only get one voice (a woman) for the sat nav (and the safety warning mode) but this isn't really a big deal.
The one thing I was dissapointed with was the manual. When I unpacked my unit, there was a sticker on the screen saying to charge the unit before use. However, there is no mention at all about how long to charge it for, how long it will take etc. Even for normal charging, it dosen't say. And when you do decide to just go for it and stick it on charge, it switches itself on. I didn't know if it should stay on to charge or turn off. I had to email the online shop I purcahsed it off for help... Which is, for the first charge, you should give it a good 10-12 hours. After that, a normal charge should take about an hour. You can charge it on or off apparently. Whilst on the subject of the battery, you don't appear to be able to see how much battery life you have left... Under 'System Settings' (or whatever its called), it will simply say 'charging' if it is charging or just show a picture of a battery if its not. Mine is still charging every time I use it (and every time i've used it has been plugged into the car... And it had 12 hours before first use.) Back to the manual, for someone like me who is new to GPS systems, I found it a little tricky to follow as it is not all step-by-step. There is a lot of 'what it can do' but not telling you 'how' to do it. You have to play around with it and use common sense on some of the menus.
Overall, I like it. I would recommend it to anyone who wants an accurate safety warning device with Sat Nav. If you just want it for navigation, I would look at something else. But like me, if you do find yourself sometimes thinking "I hope I went through that camera at the right speed!", then I recommend this. Look around to... Some good deals around where carry case and a charger is chucked in for free.
