I took it on holiday as a second book. Once I had finished the first book I started this very large book and could not put it down. No doubt there were many stories of bravery and those included were representative samples only. Not everybody can be awarded medals and for other reviewers to condemn it because their father was not mentioned specifically is a case of extreme bias.

James Holland, Joss Ackland, Fortress Malta: An Island Under Siege,1940-1943 - It is a great shame that such a book can be written without the author or editors establishing the facts. My Father was there during the siege and although that in itself would not be sufficient to include him in the book, the fact that he recieved the very first DFM (indeed the very first medal) on Malta for saving his crew, I feel should at least warrant a mention.
