Great Beginning, Poor Ending
We used Acorn in November 209 to ship some furniture from Dubai to our house in Wales, UK. The Acorn team were brilliant - v personable. The packing team came in like a swarm of locusts and slickly packed up our goods.

When the shipment arrived in the UK the goods went to their UK partners, Cos freight. Cos, however, said they might not release the goods on time due to payment backlogs from Acorn. Our goods got sorted out and released after some frantic calls.

When our belongings arrived in Wales we were SHOCKED at the amount fo damage and breakages to our goods. Whether or not we have insurance is immaterial - the standard of packaging should not have allowed such a high level of breakage.

We have made many international and domestic moves and this was unusual. We also found that items were not packed logically, e.g. flower pots packed with kitchenware.

Our table top is still missing (!) but Cos are hoping it will turn up.
Lesson learnt: Use a major brand name and pay up.

Acorn are aware of this but there has been no call from them or offer of compensation. Reputation and word of mouth are important in expat markets - which is why we called them in the first place - so I am surprised and disappointed with Acorn.
