I enrolled on to this course and completed it and also my cv and covering letter was improved. however, it has been 3 months since I completed the course and when I try to ring them there is no answer and no replies to my emails. As I didn't receive a full copy of the contract, does anybody have it that you can e-mail to me, as proof of what the agreement was.

Baker Coop

I found it strange reading people's reviews on Baker Coop because I am beginning to feel that I too have been fleeced for £2000! I signed up to the Britannia Accountancy programme as a graduate, hence it cost me £2000. I paid in 2 installments (£1000 each) and I'm sure nobody would be surprised that they kept regular contact with me until they received payment. Once I regrettably parted with the money, things went downhill pretty swiftly.

Part of the 'programme' was to complete 3 certifications of Sage 50 Accounts at home. I was told that the quicker I completed the certifications, the better the job/placement I would receive. So I worked night and day over Xmas to make sure I completed them. Bare in mind I informed Baker Coop that I passed my certifications on 7th January 2012). A few WEEKS after I sent them my certificates, they mentioned that they would be looking into a placement for me. However, that doesn't seem to have materialised. Instead, Joshua Williams has insisted that the 'CV clinic' check over my CV and cover letter to make sure it is at a 'professional standard' because mine was 'awful'. To some extent, I agree with him as the changes they have told me to make have made my CV and cover letter a lot better. BUT... after they made changes and I applied them, they told me to change it AGAIN. It took them a week to 'send it to the CV clinic' and send it back to me. In total I edited my CV/cover letter at least 5 times, equating to 5 WEEKS. I'm sure we are starting to see a pattern here.

For clarity, Joshua Williams was the one that was dealing with me until recently. Harriet Green sent me the latest version of CV/cover letter changes and I sent them back to her to 'send to the clinic'. However, I have emailed her twice to let me know about what happens next with the training programme but to no avail (surprise, surprise). What frustrates me even more is that when I ask the receptionist to pass on a message, I may as well be talking to a brick wall because this message NEVER gets passed on. If anything changes regarding my programme, positive or negative, I shall keep you posted. But everyone's comments on this forum make me think I shouldn't hold my breath and the talk of legal actions is beginning to sound like the right course of action.

@LUCYLALON, Thanks Mate i just spoke to the trading standard. She was very helpful she told me first to send a recorded delivery to bakercoop. And i asked her about taking them to court but she suggested me to send the letter to them first then wait if they dont they are in a breach of contract. Then wait a further while then again complain to the trading standard they will process the case further.

LUCYLALON

I'm so sorry that this has happened to you - make sure you keep receipts to show the review centre .. as Britannia/bark will request your negative review to be deleted from this site.

I suggest you report them to trading standards immediately,[ I already reported them as I believe previous companies under the same name such as Britannia IT, Britannia Finance and Mortgages ripped students off in millions prior 2006-2008 [ google] get a bit of legal advice, and maybe take legal action in the small claims court [ Sign on to JSA if you are unempolyed as the legal fees will be free]

I knew when seeing the adverts that it would be a bit of a scam.... lesson learn always and I really mean always do completely independent research before parting with your cash. check companieshouse to see when they opened, I think it was September 2011... RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH companies

Any negative reviews on Bark corp on forums was quickly challenged and deleted, but you can google and use the cauched to see the details before it was deleted...

check out the consumeractiongroup forum they are very helpful

Donr Go For It

I am on baker coop's training now. They said everything in words and when I read the agreement, it does not clearly state anything. At the interview, the staff said, the training will be at their new office in ground floor and later I did not hear anything from them. When I called, they said that training will be provided online and I will receive a link. BUT I ONLY PAID £200 because he said it will be at their place. I can learn myself getting the same stuff from online and most of the things they provided was just basic. I was very unhappy. However I started doing the tasks they have given me with my own initiative. There is no help from them. I paid £200 for nothing!! If I email for help..NO REPLY... If I call..they says someone called Joshua Williams is taking care of this...but never pass the call to him. I had few doubts about the tasks I am doing..and they are not even ready to answer simple doubts. I feel it was a trap for £200... If we are many...then we should take some action against them to get back the money...If there is any legal action we can take....we must do it...

For those who are thinking to join this training..please don’t… it useless.. !! I want somehow stop them cheating public. That is too happening in one reputed area in London. If anyone can advise what can be done legally. Please reply

Don't Get Fooled By Them!

I applied for their IT training program. They called me for an interview and took £200 as administration fees. This payment was taken on the agreed understanding that the COMPTIA examination fees would be paid by Baker Coop. The information was clearly, inaccurate and falsely relayed to me by the interviewer. I was also told they'll provide books, and training classes over the weekend. After about 2 weeks i got a link to their e-learning material. It looked like as if it was downloaded on the internet which i could have done myself. I sent numerous emails and made several telephone calls (most of which went unanswered) regarding the structure of the course, weekend class timings and literature, but these questions were not answered. The response from Baker Coop has been at best poor.

After repeated attempts, i finally managed to speak to the consultant and I was told I should pay for the Comptia exams. I threw a fit telling that at the interview I was told i didn't have to pay for anything until i got placed. I wanted to meet the consultant in person to sort this out but they refused. I asked for a refund of £200. The consultant told me that i was confused and asked me to write a letter to their administration department in Canary Wharf. I sent the letter and after about 2 weeks i received an email telling I was removed from their training program and that they can't refund my £200 and it wasn't open to discussion or debate.

Also, the letter which I had sent has been refused. They told I shouldn't call them as I had asked to be withdrawn from their training and that all correspondence should be via letter to their office in Canary Wharf. The letter which I sent has been refused and returned to my home address.

The whole point was that they made me sign onto a program by giving me false information. After signing up, they refused to meet me and when I questioned why the interviewer gave false information, they asked me to withdraw from their training and told they can't refund the admin fee £200

Clearly, there has been no transparency or consistency, which has led me, to question the authenticity of their services. In my current job, I get paid £188 a week and I was hoping to find a better job through Baker Coop but instead I feel cheated and I've lost £200 and one of the consultants repeatedly said I was confused. I pay them and get treated like this?

I don't want others to go through what I've been through and if you must go please get an agreement signed stating clearly their terms and conditions. If they say that you don't have ot pay for the exams see to that it is clearly mentioned in the agreement. I signed an agreement which was different from what they said and so I couldn't prove what the interviewer told me. Plus he took cash payment stating that the card machine did not work which i now know why. Also, the interviewer made me write in a scrap of paper that i'm paying £200 as admin fee and asked me to sign it. At that time, I was excited upon being accepted and it didn't strike me that it was quite odd/wrong to sign an agreement which was different from the terms they stated and why would an organization with an office in Canary wharf ask me to sign something on scrap paper??

If anyone knows what i should do to get my refund of £200 and any authority where i could lodge a complaint, although they were right on paper I feel that their practice was unethical, please let me know.
