I really enjoyed watching this series, despite originally thinking that it wouldn't be my sort of programme. However, the show is not all about travel and learning facts- it is actually about one guy who hates travel, and his experiences as Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant set up unusual activities for him- e.g meeting an Amazonian tribe, on the way to visiting the 7 wonders of the world (series 1). I would definitely recommend this show to family and friends- it is hilarious and I am now looking forward to watching series 2.

You have to watch An Idiot Abroad, especially when you are feeling a little low. Karl Pilkington really makes the show work. He travels round the world to all these places that many people can only dream of. His perception of everything he does is so funny, that you just want to keep watching it. He is naturally funny, simply because he says it how he sees it. Although he does get to go away to these places and explore different cultures, I do think that a bit more factual information would be a nice touch. Overall it is a great program, and I really would recommend watching it.
