Amayzingone's review of Aldi Chilled Lasagne

“Absolutely the worst chilled fresh beef lasagne ever!”

Written on: 24/08/2021 by Amayzingone (1 review written)

Don’t bother with this CHEAP and nasty lasagne
Id suggest you go into Coles and buy their 1.8kg pack instead for just $10
1. Aldi World Kitchen lasagne is not cheap compared with Coles lasagne
2. It's not better than Coles lasagne either
3. Nor is its practical compared with Coles
4. And Aldi’s directions are not clear and in fact proven to be downright dangerous!

Aldi World Kitchen beef lasagne comes in a much smaller 1.2kg pack compared with Coles 1.8kg pack so on a dollar for dollar basis the are similarly priced. Using smaller packaging is one of Aldi’s tricks to make their products appear cheaper!
Aldi World Kitchen doesn’t taste very good. It’s very bland and flat with little if any beef (if you can find it) It’s also somewhat "gluey"
Coles lasagne comes in an aluminium tray ready to place in the oven. Just slip off the wrapping and place in the oven. Just as you would expect! So no dirty oven tray to scrub and clean.
On the other hand Aldi World Kitchen lasagne comes in a plastic tray. Yes you heard right. So you must first remove the lasagne from the plastic tray first and place it into an oven dish or baking tray. So much more mess and fuss and cleaning to boot. Just forget the idea. Seriously!
The instructions literally just say to remove the sleeve and plastic film and place the meal on a baking tray in the oven. See they don’t tell you to remove the lasagne from the plastic tray. And let me tell you plenty of people have fallen prey in this one by placing the lasagne inside the plastic tray straight into the oven.
It even made the news last year.

Yet Aldi did absolutely nothing to rectify this dangerous and total impractical situation situation. That is just reckless and irresponsible.
You have to wonder how many more Aldi products are offered in such a dangerous way.
