Holme Head Caravan Site, Ingleton Caravan 12

We stayed on this site under the viaduct at Ingleton for the first time this summer. Really cheap cos there are no toilets or running water just a scruffy toilet block with wee stained floors.. site is so pretty by a river but oh my God the caravan! We wondered why there were about 12 air fresheners dotted about the place. We un packed then the kids came out from the bunkroom declaring they couldn't sleep there! mould on the ceiling and walls, musty smell and wet walls! yuck. never mind we said you can have the double room and we will sleep on the lounge furniture! We went out for a walk, came back got ready for bed and OMG! the smell!! like urine dried on a carpet mixed with wet mouldy dog. undescribable. we couldn't sleep in either room so imagine the 4 of us sprawled out on narrow lounge furniture all night..for 7 nights cos we knew there were no vans free cos she had mentioned when we checked in all was full! the kids wanted to go home but we were so looking forward to the holiday. the gas cooker was dodgy so we turned the whole bottle off and did without! we came home after a week, i had fungus infections on my thighs my partner had a chest infection and we all said 'never again'
