We Have Stayed At The Nereus On Many Occassions Si
We have stayed at the Nereus on many occassions since 2003 ,we can honestly say that previous reviews are entirely detrimental as they are outdated as the hotel is improved yearly. One is treated as an individual guest where all requests are dealt promptly by family and staff. Linen is changed with rooms serviced daily .We were hoteliers there can always be slip ups at every grade of establishment. We have alway been very happy and will return.

I Stayed At The Nereus Hotel With Another Family M
I stayed at the Nereus hotel with another family member for 3 weeks from August 2006 into September 2006. The rooms: although I had no intentions of spending my holiday in my room- the room was tiny (two of us sharing), the bathroom was a disgrace, all the tiles from ceiling to floor were cracked, the shower curtain was filthy and the actual layout of the bathroom was a disaster it was too compact and all crammed in, leaving no room to manoeuvre. The pressure in both the sink taps and the shower was pathetic - literally trickled out- in such hot weather water is essential for the obvious hygiene reasons. We were given a plastic tag which activates the electricity in the room- air conditioning, light, water cooler and television- so whenever you entered the room you had to slip this plastic tag into a slot in order to have all the appliances switched on. However, this tag was permanently attached to the rooms key, which we were told we were not allowed to remove - this was a ludicrous system, as when we would return for a HOT day out our room was baking, the water which we paid for in the dispenser was warm- this is not what you want in mid August Cypriot climate. The majority of staff were very pleasant, however a couple of the night time bar staff were not. Besides from that the other staff were great. The food was a nightmare, many guests there that had been going there for years have said that the food has really gone downhill since the staff turnover and it's very disappointing. The only edible night was the carvery night which was on Sundays. The pools which are pictured in the brochure are in fact the pools which belong to the rented apartments to the back of the hotel- the actual pools are disappointing and could do with a clean. The lift broke down countless times. All in all, as the saying goes you get what you pay for, but I know if you search you will find hotels in the same area and providing the same things for the same price or better and the quality will be a vast improvement to the Nereus hotel.

Hotel: We Had An Absolutely Marvelous Stay At The
HOTEL: We had an absolutely marvelous stay at the Nereus Hotel. The staff really make this place. The vast majority of them are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much hassle. We were half board but enjoy our holidays most when we can try out new restaurants at night. Luckily they allowed us to regularly swap our evening meal for lunch. This was an extra bonus because the lunch menu was a la carte as opposed to the dinner menu which was buffet. But, some nights were very good! The breakfast is basic and the bacon and eggs are just not the same, but then were is it when you go abroad? Plenty of fresh fruit and yoghurt however, so we indulged in that.
The pools are nice and with the sunroofs having sunbeds as well, there's always plenty of sunbeds available. Weather was absolutely gorgeous and so is Paphos. Hotel is located brilliantly, just close enough to everything and just faraway to not be disturbed when you don't want to.
RESORT: Around Paphos there's plenty of good trips available. We did two catamaran trips and two water park trips, which were both great. Good transport links, plenty of restaurants and bars around and nice people.
Nice beach, although not big, in Paphos with the beautiful Coral Bay being rather close on the regular (air conditioned) bus service.
SUMMARY: Hotel Nereus is a great place to stay when visiting Paphos, perfect location and great staff. Perhaps the only 'bad' point is that the rooms could be updated, especially the bathrooms, BUT the maids are very good and clean pretty much every day so it's just a 'cosmetic' issue, not one of hygiene. Thomson rep very friendly and helpful.

The Nereus Hotel In Paphos Has Lots Of Nice Restau
The Nereus Hotel in Paphos has lots of nice restaurants and bars nearby. There is a lovely walk to the castle and harbour.
The hotel is family run, and very friendly. The staff seem to be there year after year and can't help people enough with anything.
There are three pools, but the larger pool can get really noisy when local children jump in after school, which is a pain.
We have been for the last four years, and look forward to next year's visit.

Nereus Hotel: The Rooms Were Large Warm And C
Nereus Hotel:
The rooms were large warm and clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The pools were not used when I was there as it was the winter season, but were kept very clean and I am still kicking myself for not going in for a swim. Most of the customers were return visitors which speaks for it's self. I will be back.

Cheap And Cheerful Thomsons Said.... I Had One Of
Cheap and cheerful Thomsons said.... I had One of the most terrible holiday experiences at Nereus Hotel. We had to change our room since the first room smelled of something awful and a view of what appeared to be waste ground. The second room was not much better and was the size of a postage stamp. Some of the staff were OK but did admit that the place needed an overhaul. The pool seemed dirty hence uninviting. The majority of our party were ill as well as some of the guests.... The only one positive thing was the consistent weather. After this, I vowed to never to go on a budget holiday again!
