If You Want To Use The Stereo Speakers, You Connec
If you want to use the stereo speakers, you connect your stereo to the "audio out" on the TV. To get any sound out from the audio out, you have to turn off tv speakers, which is done by entering TV's setup menu. It is not enough with just setting volume to zero. And here comes the bad part: when turning off the TV it will forget this setting. Next day the TV speakers will be activated again and no sound will get to the stereo speakers until you enter tv's setup menu and turn it off again.
Not acceptable!
I have a 28FX66, but I think the functionality is pretty similar to a 32. Turning TV speakers OFF via the menu does enable the phono outputs (connected to my hi-fi), as you and the manual describe. However, I still get sound to the hi-fi with the TV speakers ON, just at a significantly reduced volume. By turning up the hi-fi's volume (and it's bass), I get a reasonable effect of sound mostly coming from the TV (my hi-fi speakers are not very close to the TV, and I prefer at least some TV sound coming from the direction of the picture), coupled with a pseudo-surround effect (especially bassy sounds) coming from the hi-fi speakers. Whilst this certainly won't satisfy surround sound purists, it isn't bad while I think about a genuine system.
There is propably more important things about a TV than the speeker system. This jugment of the TV seems a bit strange since ther are no coments about the picture.

Had This Set For About 3.5 Weeks Now And I'm Very
Had this set for about 3.5 weeks now and i'm very very pleased with it I had previously ordered and received the Philps 9527 but after 48hrs I could tell it was c***. So I switched to the Sony(which I knew at the time I should've done anyway!) and what a difference the Sony is clear specific and very sharp in it's delivery of picture only real critisicm I have is that on football the grass can look quite blocky but I am told that this a facet of 100hz plus poor sky tansmission. My eyeballs have now adjusted to this picture and it is no longer a problem on the Philips It was like watching blocks of mud and wool for footie
Overall very pleased with this tv the buzzing is minor and I no longer notice it apparently it is to do with the scanning device but it really is not a problem and the geo' is slightly out on text no doubt curable but I can't afford the time off work at the mo' to sort it out and really is me being picky so i'll live with it for now

I Finally Bought This Tv After Researching Countle
I finally bought this tv after researching countless other "rival" sets and looking at the opinions of customers who had recently taken delivery of one. I must say I couldn't find one review of this, and so relying on the good word of others on www.avforums.com I took the plunge and ordered it with the open stand.
I must say I am VERY impressed with the quality of the TV. When connnected up to a DVD player or XBOX the pictures are pin-sharp with excellent colour definition. The fact that it comes with 3 SCART sockets, 2 of which are RGB compatible, was a big plus for me as I could then connect my XBOX and SKY DIGITAL systems without sacrificing quality of one or the other.
This set doesn't come packed with features like other sets I viewed but I don't feel a telly should be judged by its gimmicks. As the picture quality is outstanding I don't feel the need to change anything significantly. A plus point I feel for Sony! The one thing I will say is that it comes with a locator function for your remote control. Press a button on the TV and your remote will beep at you! Very handy if you have kids who like to hide things!
Lookswise it beats all others I viewed hands down. Stylish looks, stylish remote and an open stand with tempered glass shelves. This TV would complement any room.
Sound wise its not really up there with the best. The virtual dolby surround feature tends to "flatten" the sound, and generally lacks punch on movie soundtracks. Having said that I didn't purchase this for the sound as I have a surround sound system, and it seems perfectly adequate for general viewing.
One gripe I do have which does seem to be a feature of this set is the buzzing noise that emnates from the back of the telly. This isn't hugely obtrusive and cannot generally be detected with the volume at normal to high levels, but at night if you tend to turn the volume down slightly it can be heard. It seems to intensify when you change channel on SKY DIGITAL. I am still waiting for feedback from the supplier on this problem.
All in all though a great set. Without the buzzing I would have given this top marks..as it is at the moment...
I'm agree with Mr Chuffy comment.
I've got the same TV set and the same buzzing noise coming from the back. The supplier and Sony SAV France tell me that all the KV32FX66 set generate the same noise and that I was loosing my time to try to change it. Thank you SONY for your high tech product, but for me it will be the first and last time that I buy Sony.
I had one of these, no end of problems, including the buzzing you have! (capaciter or something I was told!)
In the end I got a refund and bought a loewe xelos it's in a different class as far as build quality is concerned. Try empire direct
(p.s in the uk don't shop in curry's they are totally useless and very slow trying to sort out the problems with the sony, basically once they have your money you can take a run and jump)
