I Have Only Owned My Mondeo 2.0 Tdci 130 Ghia X Fo

I have only owned my mondeo 2.0 tdci 130 ghia x for a fortnight but i return 50 mpg average even with towing a small trailer, I just stick to the speed limits and use 6th gear and cruise control on the motorways whenever possible ,if you try to drive it like a petrol car you will get petrol car fuel consumption,as for security ,who in their right mind would leave valuables in their car ,especialy a laptop, the insurance company must love you.

A good driver tries to drive smoothly, leave the boy racer stuff to the Top Gear team ,take advantage of the comfort and the torque of the engine and 50/55 mpg is easily achievable,if you want to tear aroud buy a Ford Puma 1.7,my previous car, mind you that still did 40/42 to the gallon,

Overall I Am Very Impressed With The Ford Mondeo 2

Overall I am very impressed with the Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi 130 Ghia X Est 5-Tronic. The security and clock need addressing, these points spoil what should be one of the best value for money cars around.

Quite A Pleasure To Drive Except For The Wind Nois

Quite a pleasure to drive except for the wind noise in your ear. The fuel computer sets a challenge to try and achieve a reasonable fuel consumption, but this is impossible. Even driving at speeds so slow that your granny would get impatient, the best consumption is around 30 to 32 miles per gallon, and as a diesel driver that is just not acceptable.

We are getting around 37 MPG on a run and around town 28-32

I have just acquired one of these, and it is giving the glorious number of 36.2 mpg - compared to my previous vehicle which was a vauxhall vectra 1.9 tdi which was giving 45 - 47 mpg.

Its a company vehicle, if ford can't improve it I am going to give it back as I don't love it enough for the extra cost.

My Father owned a Mondeo TD Ghia. I brimmed it four times to calculate fuel consumption. The results:- 28, 34, 34 and 35 MPG. After that experience, he now runs a petrol engined estate.

I've had a Ghia X TDCi hatch for over a year. Manual. The car does a lot of short trips and averaged over 41 MPG in the 11000 miles last year. On a motorway trip down to London it averaged 47 MPG. Someone tried to break into it at Heathrow but couldn't get past the deadlocking! I agree that the wind noise is intrusive but overall the car is superb and my whole family are impressed.

I bought it as an import from Belgium and the car has a slightly higher spec than the comparable British model (more electrical fiddly bits on the driver's seat).

We have a Ghia X and Ghia Estate and Hatch.

The Hatch averages 42-45 per gallon and does over 500 miles per week. The estate does about 39 - 42 per gallon. The power is exceptional and occasionally, you think you are driving a petrol car. The only real problem is brake fade, Ford could have made the discs fully vented from and rear.
