Has anyone ever paid for diesel and not got any from the pump.
Went to large supermarket petrol station in Belfast this morning as there was 76 miles left before running out(I hate to let the red light come on). Paid £10.00 for diesel, for a Clio that will take it up to over 130 miles. But quickly noticed after leaving the mileage hadn't changed and the gauge needle hadn't moved either. When i contacted them they done a pump check (or so they said) and that there was no nothing wrong with it. There was nothing they would do. I know there is nothing wrong with my car.
Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Apart from a serious fault, the pump wouldn't have incremented and you wouldn't have been have been charged any money at the till. And this would have been illegal as the pump is a calibrated measuring device. Any further concerns should be (have been) taken up with trading standards.

In reality, its likely that the £10.00 you put in wasn't enough to register with the electronic fuel sender in the car once it had reached a low level. This has happened with me on both my own and a work VW Caddy. A little extra fuel and the gauge will mysteriously jump up to the correct level. Annoying because you have no idea what the real state of play is.
