“Pet protect - part of pet Health Inc”

★☆☆☆☆

written by donwhitehead on 26/01/2012

As well as insurance this company runs a micro chip data base. Beware!! It is a US Company. Their 0800 number diverts transparently to the USA where it is answered. Their UK telephone number is unanswered and the voicemail is overloaded. It is virtually impossible to speak to anyone in England. They do have an email address but this too is unresponsive. God help you if you need to contact them in an emergency

“Big rise in premiums on claiming & drop in fees covered”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 25/11/2011

I took out and paid for (nearly £30 per mth) a high level of all round cover, Life Time Pet Protect Dog Insurance, for my pup when it was 3 mths old; I wanted to be sure that all eventualities were covered, including excess, vet fees and so on. I was quite prepared to pay what was a largish sum compared to other providers for full cover. Completely unforseen, I had to claim within the first year. On the yearly renewal I found the premium went up by some 30% to £39.50 per mth. In addition to this, the vets fees contribution rose from 0% to 30% and the excess rose from £0 to £75; these would be considerable extra costs to bear should vet treatment be needed and the excess might mean I didn't even bother claiming on the insurance. What really annoys me is that I went to such trouble in the first place selecting this company and paying for 0% vet fees contribution and £0 excess but it seems if you dare to claim they just write a big fat pay cheque back to themselves for the future!! Seeing as how my claim was for an unforseen 'one off' I really don't think I will benefit from Pet Protect in the future - I might as just well move to a different provider at £12-15 per month

No. Best way I found to contact them was via Twitter! My paperwork went missing too, took ages to get it anywhere near sorted and they still haven't got it right.
