I reluctantly phoned the hotline today about a horse I see daily whose been stood in a field, with no apparent shelter, water or food for weeks.
I tried to alert the RSPCA to it thinking they'd investigate and make sure it was ok, but the male operator didn't want to know. unbeknown to me the emphasis is on us to prove what's wrong with it I was asked "can you see its bones?" "if its lived in this field for months why is it still alive?". conveniently he refused to give his name or do anything further and actually hung up on me. he was rude, uncaring and totally uninterested.
I'm totally amazed the RSP CA ever prosecute anyone if that is their attitude.
