I am unable to place an order with Boots.com. I have a Boots account and have been a loyal customer for several years, but now my credit card payments are no longer being accepted. I don't have this problem with any other online shopping accounts, using the same computer, same browser and same credit card.
And Boots won't even tell me why - to quote Boots:
'As part of our internal procedures to protect our customers, we undertake a series of order checks. When these checks are carried out, if the order fails any then the order will be cancelled.
You could attempt to place the order again but your new order will be subject to the same checks and may be cancelled if it fails again at any point.
Our Customer Care team are unable to provide information regarding what checks are carried out.'

I have just had the same thing, finally got through to them and they said the bank could be putting an automatic block on the transaction - I have used Boots loads of times in the past and this was an order for barely £25 so I see no reason why it would be declined. No text message or additional security checks requested just a straight decline - although payment is pending and this won't be cleared "for a few days" apparently! It really is no good when online transactions are declined with no additional checks, went to another website and no problems whatsoever.

I tried a different Internet browser (Edge) and the order payment went through. I reported this technical issue to Boots as it appears to be a website browser compatibility problem. I didn't get a reply from Boots. Perhaps they don't care about losing customers.
